i thought surgeon was pretty popular around here? i really like his work from 97-01, especially the tresor albums and early counterbalance 12s. i love love love the counterbalance collection mix cd from 2001, probably the greatest drum loop techno statement of purpose from someone not named jeff mills that exists. british murder boys was aight but honestly i cooled off on him alot when he got very eclectic and laptoppy around 2007.

i think the fabric mix was when i pretty much gave up - now i hear he's doing like modular ambient music? lol

surgeon’s great! would def take any random surgeon track over any random autechre track imho. but some of his stuff is just flavorless. Yes I know how to use the ffwd button to get to the good parts of techno songs. Thanks for the tip.

Surgeon probably peaked with the Counterbalance EPs c. 2000. From his recent albums, "Breaking the Frame" was excellent, and albums (as Anthony Child) for Editions Mego were really good too.
