goddam that new beat boy harsher edit is awesome.. how come most of the actual vintage new beat I hear is goofy as hell and not so deep and moody? is it because half of all new beat records I’ve heard were probably produced by the (I admit brilliant) morton sherman belluci squad?

glad you like! i went on a tear through the thread after i posted those and bought a bunch of stuff you and others posted. weirdly my favorite tracks are a little more indie-goth flavored (the anthony naples remix of working men's club and the nite fields track). also liking what cardopusher is doing.

i think that makes sense, the indie-goth flavors probably mix more easily with the house and disco sounds you're liking

i like to use chuggy psychedelic stuff to bridge this kind of thing with disco, e.g. zillas on acid, radial gaze, anatolian weapons
