the new Instruments of Rapture by the OOFT boys is another winner! not *quite* as good as "Just a Memory" for me (which Herb Alpert tune is that, btw?) but i'm feeling it. out soon...

R&B Drunkie is awesome. I emailed the record label to see if they were repressing the other week, but they haven't replied so I guess not.

I agree! I haven't really heard anything by The Revenge that lived up to Night Flight, which is absolutely amazing.

mark e just released tons of stuff. i dig the freakin shriekin 12", and the one on endless flight (codsall juniors?) is growing on me

all instruments of rapture stuff from this year is also v good, tho the revenge seems to be falling off a bit with most of his other releases and remixes

also the don froth 12" from early this year is still doing it for me tho. and don't forget about the linkwood album!!!

Some of the MCDE Raw Cuts tracks are right up this street too

The recent Mark E 12" on Merc has a side ("track 1") that sounds like a slowed down house-y edit of an R-Tyme track!

I know I always post Juno links, but really if you go to their best selling Deep House page it is like a primer on this stuff.

It's not super-new, but have you heard "Walk in Deepness" by Reggie Dokes? (on Prime Numbers) That is my jam. It's 120 BPM psychedelic jazz house, but sounds awesome pitched down.

The new Big Strick single on FXHE is very good as well. There are some techno tracks on it, but "A Walk Down Linwood" is definitely fitting for this thread. It came out on the FXHE comp earlier this year, but the new single has two versions. Beautiful keys.

Back when I still had a weekly I played Jam and Lewis's Latin mix of Patti Austin Heat of Heat all the time. The semi-empty bar appreciated that, my friends begged me to play dubstep instead.

But that kind of late 80s modern soul slots in like a dream with this kind of thing.
