― maffew12, Saturday, 16 May 2020 22:03 (six years ago)
He's reviewed 4580 releases and I am not going to scroll through however many pages

there's a search bar on the profiles. he's rated the first 2 mk2 albums (3.5 stars each). wonder if he made the connection
― frogbs, Saturday, 16 May 2020 22:16 (six years ago)

i remember when i caught this stream about halfway through on my facebook feed and it rocked my entire day

― mellon collie and the infinite bradness (BradNelson), Saturday, 16 May 2020 23:02 (six years ago)
lol i'll never forgive this stream for cutting out during king of snake
― mellon collie and the infinite bradness (BradNelson), Saturday, 16 May 2020 23:06 (six years ago)
C'mon, snake
― maffew12, Saturday, 16 May 2020 23:09 (six years ago)
The dirties patched up various repaired versions of the show from Snake reposts and partial stereo broadcasts, but I’ve never had enough computer to bother faffing with private trackers
― Bleeqwot (sic), Saturday, 16 May 2020 23:29 (six years ago)
(apparently the OG stream missed a bit of Snake & most of Jumbo)
man
everything everything
what a total experience

drift: 3 > 2 > 4 > 1 > 5
― ufo, Sunday, 17 May 2020 02:51 (six years ago)
5 has so many jams what
― mellon collie and the infinite bradness (BradNelson), Sunday, 17 May 2020 02:59 (six years ago)
the only thing i really rate on 5 is "doscientos". "tree and two chairs" and "toluca stars" are like almost there but not quite?
― ufo, Sunday, 17 May 2020 03:05 (six years ago)
I think mine is 3 > 5 > 2 > 1 > 4, but outside of 3 being the best I'm pretty flexible on the rest
4 is only at the bottom because I don't like "Altitude Dub" much. though it's grown on me
― frogbs, Sunday, 17 May 2020 03:17 (six years ago)
btw I think I'm done with my ballot. two of my top three are from the last 5 years
would be nuts to tell my 2003 self that
― frogbs, Sunday, 17 May 2020 03:18 (six years ago)
thinking of the Drifts in terms of what's on which CD in the box set is wild to me, but then I haven't figured out how I'm organising them either
― Bleeqwot (sic), Sunday, 17 May 2020 08:09 (six years ago)
i'm going by boxset CDs + considering the necks collabs part of where they were originally
― ufo, Sunday, 17 May 2020 09:05 (six years ago)
I think I’m leaning towards “the final version of all the weekly tracks except the original STAR and adding the box set version of Brilliant” + “all the Necks tracks in full length versions” + “all the new bangers from the box set” + “all the new chill ambient groovers from the box set” as four bundlesbut then...
― Bleeqwot (sic), Sunday, 17 May 2020 11:12 (six years ago)
doesn't matter does it?.... for this here poll at least.Brilliant is brilliant. Has to be on my list.
― maffew12, Sunday, 17 May 2020 11:51 (six years ago)
Only just discovered that there's a deluxe edition of Edgeland and the bonus tracks are all excellent.
― groovypanda, Sunday, 17 May 2020 18:27 (six years ago)
Yeah a lot of them are better than the actual album tracks. Cascading Light and Dancing on the Graves of le cabloosiers dreams

My sister got me Doot-Doot a while back and I'd been neglecting it due to unfavorable memories of Underneath the Radar, but turns out I like it very much.

Can I vote for Drift if I've only heard the (still sufficiently awesome) sampler edition?
― last updated a group of five done twelve times ago (geoffreyess), Monday, 18 May 2020 03:44 (six years ago)
As an album, sure. As a listener, it’s only yourself you’re depriving.
― Bleeqwot (sic), Monday, 18 May 2020 04:03 (six years ago)
Fairly happy with my albums poll but have 99 tracks on my shortlist to cut down to 77 and then somehow put them in order.
Have them all in a spreadsheet and quickly went through giving them approximate placings (Top 5, 10, 20, 30 etc) and currently have 37 tracks in my top 20.
― groovypanda, Monday, 18 May 2020 13:19 (six years ago)
Sent in a ballot. Limited myself to 50 tracks
― I am using your worlds, Monday, 18 May 2020 18:59 (six years ago)
As a listener, it’s only yourself you’re depriving.
I know! I guess I imagined I would buy it at some point. Have now caved and logged in to spotify for the first time since the Bjork poll, apparently. Seems worth it so far :)
― last updated a group of five done twelve times ago (geoffreyess), Monday, 18 May 2020 19:02 (six years ago)
beware the cut-down version of Appleshine Continuum on the box set / album
― Bleeqwot (sic), Monday, 18 May 2020 21:19 (six years ago)
ok... how are people handling Riverrun when it comes to tracks? If I'm gonna think of them as 3 long tracks, they'll have to go real high... but if I split them up, there's not going to be much of them on there. Juanita/Kiteless/To Dream of Love is my #1 track... so you see the bind I'm in.
― maffew12, Tuesday, 19 May 2020 01:25 (six years ago)
WE HAVEN'T EVEN TALKED ABOUT MANCHESTER STREET POEM
― maffew12, Tuesday, 19 May 2020 01:43 (six years ago)
i split them up, they're pretty discrete compositions
― mellon collie and the infinite bradness (BradNelson), Tuesday, 19 May 2020 02:39 (six years ago)
why 3? the thing i found has 4... 4x30m. is mine different? lol
― Hackers (1995) (Will M.), Tuesday, 19 May 2020 02:54 (six years ago)
not sure what that is, Riverrun is three EPs that each were never released as split tracks - Lovely Broken Thing, Pizza for Eggs, and I'm A Big Sister...
― ufo, Tuesday, 19 May 2020 03:03 (six years ago)
the fourth is very probably the Misterons DJ mix of Riverrun tracks
― Bleeqwot (sic), Tuesday, 19 May 2020 03:34 (six years ago)
I gave the Riverrun tracks a once-through. Interesting, but would probably require more listens before I can get a handle on them. They seem pretty easy to split up though, unlike Juanita/Kiteless/To Dream of Love or Banstyle/Sappys Curry, which I still don't know where they split up
― Vinnie, Tuesday, 19 May 2020 05:41 (six years ago)
Anyone feeling like we need an extra week, or three months or w/e, for listening?
― Bleeqwot (sic), Tuesday, 19 May 2020 11:33 (six years ago)
i'm almost done with my ballot which seems like it's going to be around 50 tracks before i start to lose interest
― ufo, Tuesday, 19 May 2020 11:34 (six years ago)
Struggling to get mine down to 77 and then have no idea how i'm going to decide the order. Still got six or seven tracks i'd be happy to give my #1 vote to
― groovypanda, Tuesday, 19 May 2020 11:48 (six years ago)
time is fine
― maffew12, Tuesday, 19 May 2020 12:05 (six years ago)
yeah, if i had another week not sure it would make much difference
a lot of my minor placings are going to fairly arbitrary anyway
― groovypanda, Tuesday, 19 May 2020 12:13 (six years ago)
and out of interest, what's the points system going to be?
77 points for first place down to 1 point for 77th or will top 5 or 10 or whatever get more weighting?
― groovypanda, Tuesday, 19 May 2020 12:16 (six years ago)
a little help for anyone who's having trouble getting up to 77, or a relaxing listen for after voting
― Bleeqwot (sic), Tuesday, 19 May 2020 12:18 (six years ago)
done. Christ, that was hard

"Jenny" from Manchester Street Poem, in case there's anyone thinking to dig a little deeper still. I'm just trying to talk myself out of thinking hard on any Hyde/Eno tracks and move on with my life.... and the Oblivion live series
― maffew12, Tuesday, 19 May 2020 14:31 (six years ago)
I seem to recall Elton John once listing Second Toughest among his favorite albums but have no idea where that was. Can anyone confirm?
― last updated a group of five done twelve times ago (geoffreyess), Wednesday, 20 May 2020 03:10 (six years ago)
I voted, ended up with 39 tracks. Would be nice to have 40 but there was a dropoff after #39 so it seemed a good place to cut it. I'm sure there's something awesome among the Drift tracks I haven't heard yet, but my brain is starting to melt all this new music together. Anyway, I've already found more amazing music in this poll than in any other artist poll I've voted in by far - a good quarter of my ballot is music that was new to me
― Vinnie, Wednesday, 20 May 2020 03:55 (six years ago)
oh i still haven't listened to manchester street poem, should i?
