Spanish Castle Magic: TOO LOW! My #4. I argued with Sufjan about it on the voting thread, but just here to say once again that Jimi is the coolest and Spanish Castle Magic is one of his coolest moments.

The whole thing is an aside to someone, you know the girl in the yellow hat, one time, you dig, during an overheard digression, but, anyway, the best.

Hey Joe beating Spanish Castle Magic and Crosstown Traffic makes me wish I hadn't voted for it.

SCM was my #4 too. Love the stop-time arrangement (if that's the right term to describe it).

Crosstown Traffic is the apotheosis of the entire British Invasion. The rushed, jagged vocal attack on the verses when the guitar pulls back for space, then during the chorus, the way the "It's just like", "CROSSTOWN TRAFFIC", and "to get through to you" combine gets me every time.

About 4 hours in as things were really humming along, I went for a quick ride with a friend, who popped a cassette in. The most incredibly weird music with spooky voices started to assault me from the speakers.
