Hey! I just want to recommend a live stream of a DJ set, and I hope this is the right place to do it (apologies in advance, in case there is a more appropriate place to post it). It's in support of the city's best venue for 'alternative music' (whatever that means, but I think you get the Idea!), which is of course hit hard by the Coronavirus, so it's also possible to donate!

The live stream is here: https://www.tapeaarhus.dk/festaften19.html?fbclid=IwAR3LUv0FRA5gRgHHdanKYpjU34oeKdQL4UG1FWKDNWToVx0v900L9EzlxtY

It's by a DJ from the second biggest city in Denmark, Aarhus, and he is a part of a great local label, Regelbau - you might know the name from p4k or residentadvisor:)))

Niels Lyhne, Saturday, 28 March 2020 19:26 (six years ago)

I know Regelbau from owning two Regelbau records, but I'm already tuned into another live stream! Its the right place tho!

saer, Saturday, 28 March 2020 19:50 (six years ago)

looing forward to listening to your links <3

Serpentino on Yaroh, not sure what this is or where it came from, presume its French but who knows?

Sassy and creepy!

saer, Tuesday, 7 April 2020 10:33 (six years ago)

Hey saer - what would you call the subgenre of bobbins that you're into?

DJI, Tuesday, 7 April 2020 16:02 (six years ago)

saer would call it a bit of lager with the lads after a pop down to the chippy

karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Tuesday, 7 April 2020 16:34 (six years ago)

rest of us would call it minimal

karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Tuesday, 7 April 2020 16:35 (six years ago)

pretty good karl, maybe add something about reverie by the canal

the late great, Tuesday, 7 April 2020 17:26 (six years ago)

i wanted to get more specific but all i could think of was aldi and i think that's only for stuff he doesn't like

karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Tuesday, 7 April 2020 17:28 (six years ago)

The concept of subgenre was invented to divide the people don't fall for it pals!

saer, Tuesday, 7 April 2020 18:40 (six years ago)

agree 100%

the late great, Tuesday, 7 April 2020 19:01 (six years ago)

there's two genres: true. techno. music. and shit

the late great, Tuesday, 7 April 2020 19:02 (six years ago)

That track is pretty healthy, the guitar & low piano chops, into it.

Thank you saer for the Serpentino heads-up--has the flavour of when Akufen/Herbert/Perlon etc. was all fresh and exciting IMO.
Was happy to find it on Bandcamp a second ago: https://yydigital.bandcamp.com/track/la-cobra-manchuria

Vakula again

ok. some evening reflections >>>>>
sometimes i have comments about kindness and positive thoughts and it often happens that during the conversation i asking this person one question: what do you eat?
i am enraged by people who talking about kindness and morality while eating meat at the moment of reasoning about what is good and what is evil.
to kill animals is good or bad? to eat meat of another animals or human is good or bad? some of you condemned me in the past (and i still remember it) for some kind of feminism and sexism, sitting in front of a laptop or your iPhone eating at that moment a piece of meat with a glass of wine or beer. isn't?
some of you are just a sick society infected with femenism, sexism and other perverted concepts. society of fucking liars.
no, i'm not going to be kind to a rotting society that pulls to the abyss a human standing next to him. i will fight through my music and similar posts so that branches of sanity begin to sprout in your head. crazy times 🤪

The Vakula man is bad vibes. We could be hearing about Greggs instead of Vakula and how they are keeping their staff on during the pandemic! Greggs is also where I first heard this from Deyayu just last month

Andrea's Ritorno, on Ilian Tape is probably my bobbins album of the year so far, despite having a much more downtempo and footworky/breaky vibe.

octobeard, Tuesday, 14 April 2020 21:37 (six years ago)

that Ritorno album is a lot for my brain, maybe i should give it another chance

I love how I check out these throbbing monsters based on y’all’s posts and I’m like “eh, not my thing anymore, just kinda sounds like old mayday compilation traxx from ‘92” and then an hour later the track is still stuck in my head.

^^^ can anyone recommend some tracks in this vein? i'm tryna build a whole crate of stuff that fits with it... swung house with an emphasis on the low end and a UK bassy feel, would be thankful for any tips

the playlist is now up to speed, it covers about two thirds of the tracks posted on thethread, which is not bad going for this genre, I think.

ILM Bobbins 🐙 2020

(*TA • You Can Do It* is a good example of an almost unsearchable track on present-day Spotify: two-letter artist name + generic title. I’m guessing it really isn’t there, but I’d like to be proven wrong)

Probably a number of threads this could be posted in but a kind of bobbins-y producer, although is very un-bobbinsy on sound. I’m loving this.
