the remix, live in LA or whatever it's called has the excellent percolating intro, which as someone said above should be the standard version of the song… and I have heard it on multiple radio formats and in RL situations in the past month…it is immediately effective in every single context I have encountered, so I would think it would go down a storm at the LGBT party of which you speak…probly a lot of the people who will be there do already or will know it by then, and any that don't would likely be immediately into it…

god the live in la version is so perfect

I've played it at Hot Mess in Glasgow and it does GO OFF! for sure. I played the mikeandtess edit that I linked above.

"New Rules" and "Don't Start Now" have become supermarket music, which is to me the undisputable, definitive proof that an artist has really broken into mainstream.

Aren't you the guy whoTried to hurt me with the word "goodbye"'Fore it took some time to survive youI'm better on the other side
Feel like this is explicit acknowledgement that the lyrics are 'I Will Survive Pt 2' but maybe I'm reaching

I think it's a definite.

I know these sort of single-instrument Youtube covers usually are pretty boring, etc, but this is undeniably great:

I remebered seeing this recommended to me on YouTube but hadn’t clicked on it – thanks for sharing it, it's great.

Only on ILM could there be an apparently earnest discussion over whether or not Dua Lipa has broken into the mainstream.
― Matt DC, Saturday, 7 March 2020 11:59 (six years ago)
I was asking about North America.
― Alain the Botton (jed_), Saturday, 7 March 2020 15:29 (six years ago)
I guess the new album just leaked. Did anyone got the chance to hear it?
― Nourry, Monday, 23 March 2020 13:14 (six years ago)
the last song has a rhyming couplet style I’m not especially fond of and doesn’t really gel with the rest of it, but other than that...incredible
― monotony, Monday, 23 March 2020 13:25 (six years ago)
“cool”, “love again”, and especially “LEVITATING”, all stupendous songs
new single friday is the INXS one and that’s a banger too
― monotony, Monday, 23 March 2020 13:26 (six years ago)
She's pushed the official release date for the album up a week. It's out this Friday!
― kitchen person, Monday, 23 March 2020 14:38 (six years ago)
hello white town sample!!!!
― mellon collie and the infinite bradness (BradNelson), Monday, 23 March 2020 15:10 (six years ago)
Yeah, that was a nice surprise.
I was expecting to hate the last two songs based on the reaction on Popjustice and RYM, but I kind of love them. Great album.
― kitchen person, Monday, 23 March 2020 19:25 (six years ago)
such a strong record. I get the feeling some people might have with the last two songs but, personally, I have no problems with them.
― Nourry, Monday, 23 March 2020 21:08 (six years ago)
on the one hand I really want to listen to the leak immediately; on the other hand I really don't want to make Dua Lipa cry
If you support Dua, please don't stream the leaked version of tue album!! Look at her she's devasted 😢Pleaseeeeeee it's her body of work RESPECT HER #DuaLipa #FutureNostalgia @DUALIPA pic.twitter.com/FWyWa5iiX8— Lordogx is RARE (@lordogx) March 23, 2020

I guess this will be her E•MO•TION huh?
What’s the name of the song with a White Town sample? dying to hear this one.
― ✖✖✖ (Moka), Tuesday, 24 March 2020 18:32 (six years ago)
Is the MME good again? ;)
― Chewshabadoo, Tuesday, 24 March 2020 18:48 (six years ago)
(thanks phone)
only thing i don't really care for on this is "good in bed", pretty solid otherwise and indeed very early 00s uk pop throughout. "cool" is especially wonderful

"love again"
― mellon collie and the infinite bradness (BradNelson), Tuesday, 24 March 2020 21:52 (six years ago)
Love Again should be the next single
― kitchen person, Tuesday, 24 March 2020 22:37 (six years ago)
it is!
― mellon collie and the infinite bradness (BradNelson), Tuesday, 24 March 2020 22:38 (six years ago)
Oh, I thought it was going to be Break My Heart but maybe that's just a promo/buzz single. I get so confused. Either would work, but Love Again seems like the most obvious hit on the album.
― kitchen person, Tuesday, 24 March 2020 22:44 (six years ago)
lol sorry i got their titles mixed up, you're right kitchen person

This album is fucking relentless. And "Break My Heart" is a great covid-19 anthem (I wonder if this is why it was chosen as the next single).
― Tim F, Thursday, 26 March 2020 21:28 (six years ago)
Chorus reminds me of Shakedown Street
― ✖✖✖ (Moka), Thursday, 26 March 2020 22:31 (six years ago)
So, this is pretty much the album of the year until the Jessie Ware one comes out right?
― kitchen person, Thursday, 26 March 2020 22:38 (six years ago)
hi
― TikTok to the (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 26 March 2020 23:45 (six years ago)
the "need you tonight" interpolation in "break my heart" is really bugging me, it doesn't quite work with the rest of the song
video rules though
― ufo, Friday, 27 March 2020 00:07 (six years ago)
Once first listen, loving « Break my Heart »(indeed it’s zeitgeisty !) and the fabulous-kinky-obvious summer hit « Good in Bed » !
― AlXTC from Paris, Friday, 27 March 2020 02:56 (six years ago)
THE NEED YOU TONIGHT SAMPLE DKGKTKEKKDJFJF
― self-clowning oven (Murgatroid), Friday, 27 March 2020 05:38 (six years ago)
Oh it’s actually “need you tonight” not “shakedown street”!
“Good in Bed” sounds like Lilly Allen to me, not sure I care about it.
Non-single tracks that I like on first listen: “cool”, “love again”
― ✖✖✖ (Moka), Friday, 27 March 2020 06:40 (six years ago)
This album is *Cars voice* just what I needed.
I dig Good in Bed. Fun bop.

very early 00s uk pop throughout.
This ain't the early 00s. But why does it feel so good?
― Matt DC, Friday, 27 March 2020 12:59 (six years ago)
Damn, I haven’t seen the ILX hivemind so stoked for an album since Random Access Memories.
― Mr. Snrub, Friday, 27 March 2020 20:29 (six years ago)
We've come too far.
― TikTok to the (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 27 March 2020 20:41 (six years ago)
It's good; it reminds me of Selena Gomez's January album. I like pop stars releasing these tight albums.
