It's alright, I just added it.

I wish the old regulars who drifted away from metal would not only come back and vote but post on the threads too.
The early days of the poll were really lively.

Oor Neechy, Wednesday, 19 February 2020 17:50 (six years ago)

I'm here to watch. My metal listening has slowed to a total, er, dribble and I have nothing to contribute.

A late recommendation but I just discovered it in bouncing around listening to things, Chevelier - Destiny Calls is really good, or at least really interesting. It's I guess ostensibly some kind of nwobhm-revival sort of stuff, but it's very sparse and weird, and has female-fronted vocals that really do sound like some high priestess shouting incantations. I'm having trouble pinning it down, but it's not run of the mill its very strange and wonderful to me. Worth checking out!

I could reeeeally do with a mixed ballot btw. Next year...

imago, Wednesday, 19 February 2020 21:44 (six years ago)

I have submitted my ballot! Been following the results of these since like 2008, but never voted in one before.

Judi Dench's Human Hand (methanietanner), Thursday, 20 February 2020 00:47 (six years ago)

Imprecation - Damnatio Ad Bestias has definitely moved up for me these last few weeks - would probably be in top 20/30 now.

BlackIronPrison, Thursday, 20 February 2020 01:18 (six years ago)

Currently going back through all the albums I wishlisted on Bandcamp this year. Yikes, lots to listen to.

o. nate, Thursday, 20 February 2020 02:21 (six years ago)

Please vote so we can have a good rollout.

Oor Neechy, Thursday, 20 February 2020 12:59 (six years ago)

the bigger the ballots the better

Oor Neechy, Thursday, 20 February 2020 13:00 (six years ago)

I feel attacked that these calls for extensive ballots began in earnest immediately after I submitted my um, rigorously curated effort.

Noel Emits, Thursday, 20 February 2020 13:38 (six years ago)

I think I should be able to get up to 25.

o. nate, Thursday, 20 February 2020 16:06 (six years ago)

Voted!

Anyone lurking, please vote!

Everyone welcome!

Oor Neechy, Friday, 21 February 2020 01:42 (six years ago)

Last year we only got 33 ballots so lets see if we can smash that. We got over 70 one year I think way back.

Oor Neechy, Friday, 21 February 2020 02:16 (six years ago)

I'll be sending mine in a few hours!

Frobisher, Friday, 21 February 2020 02:55 (six years ago)

OK I voted, got myself to 40 on the ballot!

Frobisher, Friday, 21 February 2020 06:06 (six years ago)

Listening to Caligula rn...it's something else, though I def see why ILX loves it so much. Speaking for myself, personally, I think this is basically this year's Haino/Sumac: a ferocious forbidding avant album whose raw fury is undeniable but is also a little too *Serious Art* for me to know exactly what to do with

are you a fan of i.die music (Drugs A. Money), Friday, 21 February 2020 06:12 (six years ago)

I plan to vote from work tomorrow. I have a mixed ballot so just need to confirm the order.

beard papa, Friday, 21 February 2020 06:37 (six years ago)

or just ranked with no care given to the last 20 entries..

beard papa, Friday, 21 February 2020 06:38 (six years ago)

That's totally fine, you don't need to overthink it. Much of my bottom 20 is more or less interchangeable.

romanesque architect (pomenitul), Friday, 21 February 2020 08:53 (six years ago)

To whom it may concern:

Don't forget to vote, yo.

romanesque architect (pomenitul), Friday, 21 February 2020 13:00 (six years ago)

yeah yeah

imago, Friday, 21 February 2020 13:34 (six years ago)

It's-a-comin'

bold caucasian eroticism (Simon H.), Friday, 21 February 2020 13:36 (six years ago)

please keep em coming

Oor Neechy, Friday, 21 February 2020 15:49 (six years ago)

bold caucasian eroticism (Simon H.), Friday, 21 February 2020 15:53 (six years ago)

doing some last-minute relistening but planning to submit a ballot today

american bradass (BradNelson), Friday, 21 February 2020 16:03 (six years ago)

Sweet!

romanesque architect (pomenitul), Friday, 21 February 2020 16:05 (six years ago)

ayyyy

ballot ordered! sending momentarily. a culling most brutal.

bold caucasian eroticism (Simon H.), Friday, 21 February 2020 16:08 (six years ago)

when does the rollout begins? looking forward. are you doin' top 100 as usual?

gaudio, Friday, 21 February 2020 16:10 (six years ago)

Top 100, yeah. Was thinking 20 per day, from Monday to Friday.

romanesque architect (pomenitul), Friday, 21 February 2020 16:11 (six years ago)

TOO LOW!!!! -> i'm ready!

gaudio, Friday, 21 February 2020 16:13 (six years ago)

I should add that we will need to have enough votes to make a top 100. If we don't then it will have to be a shorter rollout.

Oor Neechy, Friday, 21 February 2020 16:14 (six years ago)

Sent a short unweighted ballot

Brad C., Friday, 21 February 2020 16:15 (six years ago)

so fingers crossed and get those 50 vote ballots in to make sure!

xp

Oor Neechy, Friday, 21 February 2020 16:15 (six years ago)

i think i failed you Oor. yeah, i could have put a 50 vote ballot together. didn't feel right, sorry. 30 vote ballot, but love'em all

gaudio, Friday, 21 February 2020 16:18 (six years ago)

thanks for voting!

Oor Neechy, Friday, 21 February 2020 16:44 (six years ago)

I'm annoyed with myself for not doing better campaigning! Putting my ballot in order now and hoping that enough people loved the Jambinai album - Korean psych intensity with dynamic and always interesting post-metal progressions.

tangenttangent, Friday, 21 February 2020 17:55 (six years ago)

Me too! Hope everyone voted for Black Mountain and Neptune Power Federation and Rainbow Grave.

Frobisher, Friday, 21 February 2020 18:10 (six years ago)

Submitted my ballot of 50. I hadn't heard of 10,000 Russos before this morning and it almost made my ballot. I might regret that. I left off a few favorites that might qualify as heavy rock, but I just couldn't and I might regret that, too. Toward the bottom was a bunch of indistinct death and black metal that I enjoyed throughout the year, but wouldn't be able to identify if heard in a bar.

Looking forward to seeing the results.

beard papa, Friday, 21 February 2020 19:20 (six years ago)

i prob should've campaigned too. this immortal bird record is even better than i fucking remembered

american bradass (BradNelson), Friday, 21 February 2020 19:24 (six years ago)

That one made the upper part of my list. Another one I really loved that I didn't see get a lot of mention here was the Vanum album. It slipped by my notice for a while I think due to being too close to Vastum and Venom Prison.
