MOVE YOUR BODY!

american bradass (BradNelson), Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:33 (six years ago)

Booming record. Rushomancy's posts about this album still resonate with me.

Le Bateau Ivre, Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:33 (six years ago)

omar little, Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:36 (six years ago)

I (DON'T) KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL

||||||||, Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:36 (six years ago)

Listening it now.

Is it like Big Thief

TikTok to the (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:36 (six years ago)

TURN IT OVER LET IT SPIN.

Matt DC, Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:36 (six years ago)

so it's a rave sampler cd from early 90s?

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:36 (six years ago)

didn't end up voting for this but i'm happy enough to see it this high

ufo, Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:36 (six years ago)

DJP, I wasn't able to see the image in your reply to me.

With considerable charm, you still have made a choice (Sund4r), Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:36 (six years ago)

Bat For Lashes put out her strongest album in 2019. Didn't expect top 5 but surely she doesn't miss out altogether, still enough love for her round here? Daniel won a tracks poll iirc

or something, Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:41 (six years ago)

For an album that seems so straightforward and easy to get in its charms, I feel like the emotional heft of resonant bodies increases by a surprising extent with an understanding of its context.

Brad is 2 for 2 with the placement prediction

TOO LOW, the Curator (imago), Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:45 (six years ago)

her best record front to back, a constant companion through a really rough year, "automatically in love" my favorite crj song of all time at this point

american bradass (BradNelson), Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:45 (six years ago)

I quite liked this. It's CRJ, it's always at least a bit good

TOO LOW, the Curator (imago), Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:46 (six years ago)

octo octa is not for me i do not want to move my body to those sounds

Thybulle on the Dash (Spottie), Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:46 (six years ago)

scrolling up to the conspiracy: I have ballots from both Brad and Alfred, but Alfred's is unweighted

seandalai, Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:47 (six years ago)

overall underwhelming as an emotion follow-up despite some pretty high highs, i didn't end up spending much time with it this year

ufo, Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:47 (six years ago)

Incompetence always trumps malice as an explanation

Thybulle on the Dash (Spottie), Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:48 (six years ago)

Florida voter in ballot mix-up SHOCKAH

rob, Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:49 (six years ago)

Yay for Octo Octa! To me that album harkens back to my favourite era of electronic club music in the early '90s, when it hadn't yet solidified into tightly policed genres, and you could have rave breaks, house pianos, and trance synths on the same record. Yet it doesn't feel boringly nostalgic either, maybe because of the deep emotional resonance she brings into it that transcends cheap retroism.

octobeard, Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:52 (six years ago)

i think ILM is in the pocket of big purple this year

omar little, Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:53 (six years ago)

"happy not knowing" is also my favorite crj song of all time. it sounds like kiss and emotion at once

american bradass (BradNelson), Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:53 (six years ago)

I'm with you on that one, actually.

TikTok to the (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:54 (six years ago)

"real love" is also my favorite crj song of all time etc.

american bradass (BradNelson), Thursday, 6 February 2020 21:54 (six years ago)

Not a quality issue for me, but dedicated did kinda generally feel like it ought to have come out in between kiss and emotion
