I was thinking if there was some London record I'd missed, but could only think of Theon Cross. And I don't think that is making it in.

Frederik B, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:31 (six years ago)

um okay so this American Football album rules?

Tim F, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:31 (six years ago)

I voted for Kim Gordon and for SAULT, love both those albums

silverfish, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:31 (six years ago)

On jazz, if Ancestral Recall doesn’t place I will be very angry with everyone.

Tim F, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:32 (six years ago)

Nérija is the only London jazz album (other than Comet) that might've had a chance, I think? Doesn't seem likely now. I haven't totally given up on Christian Scott yet, perhaps foolishly.

rob, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:33 (six years ago)

xp :)

rob, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:33 (six years ago)

ancestral recall will make it

welcome

american bradass (BradNelson), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:33 (six years ago)

Only now does it occur to me that Ancestral Recall is also a blue instant.

toilet-cleaning brain surgeon (pomenitul), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:35 (six years ago)

i don't get the new lambchop neither. for me they were always the band that really loved music, you could see and feel that in their concerts. autotune is vile.

so the lambchop was the #51, not the pm?

walking towards the sun since 2007 (alex in mainhattan), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:35 (six years ago)

what's a "blue instant"?

rob, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:36 (six years ago)

https://mtg.gamepedia.com/Ancestral_Recall

toilet-cleaning brain surgeon (pomenitul), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:37 (six years ago)

Yes, Purple Mountains at 51 was a fake result machinated by the perverse mind of forks. The correct result is lambchop.

✖✖✖ (Moka), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:37 (six years ago)

amazing fakeout forks

american bradass (BradNelson), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:39 (six years ago)

ok did anyone else vote for Longmont Potion Castle cuz I'm starting to worry it won't place

frogbs, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:40 (six years ago)

rob, I voted for Christian Scott (aTunde Adjuah), if it helps. Great discovery from the noms thread.

breastcrawl, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:40 (six years ago)

no clue if anything left on my ballot will show now except for that one that's probably #1

ciderpress, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:41 (six years ago)

Hoping for one more, two at best.

toilet-cleaning brain surgeon (pomenitul), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:42 (six years ago)

anywhere between 4 and 6 left for me imo. today wasn't for me rly even though i placed 2, same as y/day

TOO LOW, the Curator (imago), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:44 (six years ago)

only three of my votes have placed so far, but there's a hell of a lot of albums i've heard and liked

ooga booga-ing for the bourgeoisie (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:44 (six years ago)

i think 7-8 of my votes still have a shot tbh

ooga booga-ing for the bourgeoisie (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:45 (six years ago)

been a bunch of stuff by acts i like but haven't caught up with

ciderpress, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:45 (six years ago)

but i'm saying a prayer for my #1 :(

ooga booga-ing for the bourgeoisie (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:45 (six years ago)

great list already again :)

nxd, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:45 (six years ago)

I've only had one placement (Chemical Bros), one I really hope to see (Underworld) and one that's definitely coming (that Pacific Breeze City Pop comp)

frogbs, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:45 (six years ago)

#57 – Samthing Soweto – Isiphithiphithi (220 points, 7 votes)

I noted it upthread, but the spelling of the album title is incorrect: it should be Isphithiphithi. (Apparently it means “chaos” in Zulu - also in the sense of “hustle & bustle” perhaps? so this confusion sorta makes sense)

breastcrawl, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:46 (six years ago)

12-13 of my votes have yet to place but i'm pretty sure they will

american bradass (BradNelson), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:46 (six years ago)

Okay, if Ancestral Recall makes it I will be very happy :)

Frederik B, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:47 (six years ago)

i would love to get surprised by tinashe (maybe!), jimmy eat world, khidja & balabas, slipknot, topdown dialectic etc. but i think it would've already happened

american bradass (BradNelson), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:48 (six years ago)

:)

american bradass (BradNelson), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:50 (six years ago)

two of my ballot placed so far (Samthing & Koffee), I expect another seven (that includes Tinashe, Brad!).

breastcrawl, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:51 (six years ago)

Looks like CFCF is not going to make it :(

groovypanda, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:51 (six years ago)

having watched five seasons of terrace house i would not care to hear city pop ever again lol

i guess this is archival stuff, might be a bit different from & better than the stuff certain TH housemates have purveyed

TOO LOW, the Curator (imago), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:51 (six years ago)

I really thought Love And Affection For Stupid Little Bitches would get in but I guess not now...

emil.y, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:53 (six years ago)

Tinashe also on my "will place" list, I guess this whole hivemind thing isn't total bs

TOO LOW, the Curator (imago), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:54 (six years ago)

Still holding out for CFCF (Night Bus 4 is my favourite thing of his this year, but would love the album to place).

Ngolo Cantwell (Chinaski), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 20:54 (six years ago)

5 of mine have placed. I figure another 5 have a decent shot at placing. Good year for me.

silverfish, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 21:00 (six years ago)

I've had 3 votes place so far.

totally unnecessary bewbz of exploitation (DJP), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 21:01 (six years ago)

I also voted for 'Love And Affection For Stupid Little Bitches' but yeah I guess it would have probably shown up by now

silverfish, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 21:02 (six years ago)

I didn't think anyone cared about Tinashe any more.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 21:07 (six years ago)

CFCF is a lock, don’t sweat it.

Pressed for time but: I get Pom about feeling KM being a scam, but boy did I fall for that record.

Le Bateau Ivre, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 21:07 (six years ago)

last years tinashe album was sooooo good
probs prefer it to aquarius

nxd, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 21:07 (six years ago)

"this experimental music is a scam" = "my kid could paint that" = dumb

na (NA), Tuesday, 4 February 2020 21:10 (six years ago)

I didn't think anyone cared about Tinashe any more.

I reconsidered on listening to this album. It did take a while tho.

breastcrawl, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 21:10 (six years ago)

yeah tinashe burned through quite a lot of goodwill with the releases following aquarius but last year's effort was surprisingly decent.

||||||||, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 21:11 (six years ago)

lol brad I would be surprised if anyone other than you and I had even listened to the khidja & balabas album

Tim F, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 21:11 (six years ago)

I mean obv in a just world it would be top five or something

Tim F, Tuesday, 4 February 2020 21:11 (six years ago)
