The Prince and the Revolution discography is not that good, they have some great songs of course, but they're not quite as strong as albums as 1999 or Sign o' the Times, for example. Around the World and Parade especially have several meh filler tunes.

My suggestions seem niche-y - I can imagine people not liking some of these bands at all - but, taken on their own terms, I think these groups all have p flawless discogs (helps that some of them are not extensive discogs). Was also tempted to say someone like Dylan, just because the 'crap' is at the very least of DEEP interest to even the semi-committed fan. Or, Jandek.

Gastr del Sol - if anything, they went out on their best alb but it's all good
Television - their reunion alb may be a notch below Marquee Moon - or Adventure - but it's still a very good Television alb)

The original REM lineup is ten very good-to-great albums in a row, several of which came out annually, that is dotted with terrible songs. All goes to shit after that obviously which probably disqualifies them.

I love Portishead but releasing three albums in 25 years is not really what we're talking about here.

All this MBV disqualification talk due to the "early EPs" makes me wonder if these people ever heard them (not the first obviously, because that's almost a different band), but the 2nd one and the singles around then are some of my favorite output of theirs:
