Yeah, I also check out the Kölsch mix/album, reminded me of something like a Global Underground trance mix from the early 00s. Even the flightpath cover. That said, it's breezed by and was nice to work to this afternoon.

if anything i would have expected the results this year to be a little closer to the broader critical consensus than usual, as this year's critical consensus seemed particularly ilm-friendly

These threads are roughly 1000x more interesting to me than whatever happens at the Grammies.

I think I naively assumed there were *generally* more track ballots than album ballots. (Likely because that's most often the case for individual artist polls.) I've learned something from the pretty graph.

Is the decline in the total ballots since 2013 vaguely in proportion to a decline in total unique posters over that period or something?

My tracks ballot is bonkers. Glad to see the rollout will be probably in a similar vein.

I didn't get around to do a tracks ballot, so handed in a ballot consisting of one track. (should've added Dawson's 'Jogging' as a second but forgot). It's albums for me mostly, but stoked for the ~weird~ results!

"jogging" being top 10 is the sort of thing that feels just plausible enough for it to happen? i thought 2020 was generally not as well liked as peasant though so it would still be very surprising to me

I don't like 2020 as much as Peasant but I certainly wish I'd voted for Jogging, as it's a stellar anthem.

I listened to Addiction to Blood once or twice and liked it but wasn't taken with it like I was the second clipping. album, which I still consider just totally jaw-dropping
and which easily makes any end-of-decade list of mine (& which I prob still under-rate tbh). I wonder if clipping. is just one of those bands where the first one you hear will always be your favourite

Then again, I skipped S&M for really dumb reasons so I'm willing to accept as just any gasfaces DJP or imago are making towards my general vicinity

'Jogging' is a little too… prosaic for my liking, and unintentionally makes me feel even more alienated from English culture. Nothing Important is the only Dawson I genuinely love (and 'Hob').
