awesome last minute discovery: the Khana Bierbood album

I had high hopes for doing a thorough listen to all the nominations, but in the end a short unweighted albums ballot was all I could manage.

Voted. Caught up on a bunch of records in late December and early January, but then looking at the nominations tonight, realized there were some I wanted to hear but hadn't. With Xchuckx E no longer here, I will probably be the only voter for southern soul album acts LJ Echols and Ms. Jody. Oh well.

voted! I have had so much going on that I didn't get to spend nearly enough time with the playlists so I expect a lot of surprises. Also disappointed in myself for not ensuring that the When Saints Go Machine album was nommed even if I would have been the only voter.

I voted for an album this time, and there were some other interesting looking ones (I always go straight to Various Artists for anything to do with albums) but I didn't get chance in time due to the weather

For the tracks I voted for 20. 20! I didn't think such a thing was possible, thats almost 1 in 2 and yet I look out at the garden and to me its still in danger of relegation

Some things I discovered late or forgot to nominate:

Kölsch - Fabric Presents Kölsch
Dengue Dengue Dengue! - Zenit & Nadir
Lingua Ignota - CALIGULA

I mentioned the Kolsch record above, which was a shame because I assumed it was nominated. Didn't discover until I put together my final ballot it wasn't there. The Dengue Dengue Dengue is incredible and a late discovery. Had I heard it earlier I would have nommed it and placed it in my top 10. The Lingua Ignota is AOTY material for me... also a very late discovery. Yes it's more metal, and for the first time in a decade of being on here, I am submitting a metal ballot because of this album. It's that good.

Looking forward to the rollout. Sampa the Great and Little Simz were my Burna Boy and Big Thief I suppose.

no voting for me this year, haven't listened to enough and while i have some faves, i'll try to shout em out if they make the list/complain if they don't! looking forward to it!

I’ve seen the results and working on the graphics atm. Let me say: I don’t know if the main voters for this year changed or we had more or less voters than last year but the results are crazy. I’m willing to give 100 US dollars to anyone who guess the top 10 tracks. Hell, they’re so crazy I’m willing to give $1000 if anyone gets them right regardless of ranking.
