Damn, this album is good. Lots of crowd pleasing nods to pop history but every song is coherent within itself. The vocals hold everything together beautifully.

Given Grimes' words dealing with Poppy/Sinclair et al, I definitely feel some sympathy to the brother's side of the story. Having loosely followed this drama over the years, I felt they were both shitty people. Poppy's comments exposing Sinclair's attempting suicide and its impact on the family (stated by his brother) is BS, and reprehensible. It's certainly not the first time this sort of thing has happened in Hollywood. That said, drama aside, the video/song is good. What Poppy does moving forward will be interesting.

Perhaps Titanic Sinclair should change his name? He's probably ostracized at this point though. For everyone automatically alleging his status as an abuser, take a minute to also truly internalize the perspective his brother states above (despite his lack of carriage returns; it was Reddit, you need two there).

FWIW all the drama is a classic case of "don't shit where you eat"

it always amazed me what a great song "all the things she said" is. this version is good too.

tatu was such a creepy "concept" for a girl group. but you just can't argue with that synth breakdown part.

some googling reveals that "all the things she said" was co-written and produced by trevor horn of the buggles. interesting.

Huh. I don't mind what I've heard from Poppy at all but this performance is kind of a sweet/sour-spot blend of "I'm enjoying this" and "This is calibrated to sound like the guitar is a mosquito tied down to a splinter and shoved into my ear."

i despise poppy and have from the second i encountered her a few years ago. just had to register that i guess.

her early stuff was pretty terrible and the turnaround has really been something
