It would take days to properly sort them out, and none of us have that kind of time, I'm afraid, so I'm going to have to reset the clock by removing your last set (the stuff that isn't filtered by your own taste, as you put it).

What’s done is done. Let this thread stand as a cautionary tale against those who would advocate absolute freedom (Dostoevsky’s Grand Inquisitor ftw).

My big list was filtered on release date >= 2018-12-01. But whatever. I was trying to be helpful.

The shorter list, just for the curious or skeptical, was generated from my Spotify listening history. It was filtered on totalplays >=5, and my listening is overwhelmingly playlist-based, not album-based, so it has many albums that contain songs I liked, but where I may never have played the whole thing. It was a nomination list, not a ballot...

No worries, glenn, it's just a little too much to process on our end. And the release date as it appears on Spotify isn't always accurate, hence the need to google each title, which takes ages as you can imagine.

I also like to think of nominations as a curated pre-selection that helps us navigate the sheer glut of yearly releases. So while a limit of 50 may not always be enough, I do think we should try to favour those albums we genuinely enjoyed the most.
