Liz Kershaw seems to have disappeared from the schedule too. Mary Anne Hobbs played Lighting Bolt while I was having my lunch. Maybe this coronavirus thing isn't so bad after all.

I only ever pass R6 if I'm channel hopping and there is nothing on 3, 4 or WS and its always shit.

I only listen during the work day - as I say, decent in the morning but as soon as keaveny comes on it’s a bust

The reason keaveny is bad is that there is not enough playing of music in between his interminable charmless awfulness. Then lammo comes on and its music-focused again but the music is all bad

yeah, number 1 DJ crime is not shutting the fuck up, i listen to a lot of milquetoast classical on 3 just because the ratio is better

Ravenscroft is sitting in for Keaveny at present, so 6 remains listenable for a while longer.

So today they finally announced they are getting rid of Liz Kershaw, after 17 years.

Then it turned out she's just being moved to Sundays.

They also announced that The Blessed Madonna is getting a weekly 9pm to midnight Saturday show, straight after Craig Charles.

They play way too much middling old school rap. I know the audience is prob 40 year olds but if they really want to 'diversify'the playlist, there are many other black artists/better rap records they can play.

So many bad, complacent djs barely trying on this station.

If my kitchen DBS radio could pick up NTS you would have a point, can't even get Radio 5 in there.

6 music seems to basically be like radio 2 for aged indie kids.

that said, i have occasionally been alerted to a few good things, but during the daytime, they could play so much better stuff than they do. and newer stuff. i dont need to hear stuff that is only seemingly being played for nostalgia. then again, i might not be the right audience as i rediscovered jazz fm this week, and found i like more music on there nowadays than on 6 music.

no, I have decent radio player apps on my phone and good headphones but I also have a young family and walking round with headphones on wouldn't really go down well (anyway I listen to much less radio now as all my listening time is taken up with editing music for centuries of sound these days)

I made a big post up there somewhere about which 6 music shows are good and which are very much not good, agreed that the station has a lot of indie schmindie rubbish and should be overhauled almost entirely, radio 3 is still easily the best bbc station, radio 1 has been surprisingly good the last few years though.

i like lauren laverne as a presenter, but thats just cos she has a nice voice/manner.

i enjoy radio 1 on the whole, though it would be better with less george ezra.

Now That's What I Call Sombre Music today on 6 music, radcliffe and maconie is just Radcliffe doing minimal links, on for 4 hours and playing the slowest, most miserable stuff in the catalogue.

My local Co-Op has it's own radio station that usually plays 'Gimme Hope Joanna' and 'A Good Heart' on rotation was playing classical music today.

similar today by the look of things, 4 hours of Radcliffe this morning, 3 hours of Maconie in the freak zone slot.

Less chill out and back to the shout outs though.
