Yeah, I just listened to it last week and it sounded glorious. Surprised it didn't get much discussion on here when it finally came out.

I'm still obsessed with "Secret" and "Stay With Me"

I think it's one of those albums where everything sounds so pleasant and comforting and familiar that if you listen to it without really focusing on it directly it's easy to just take it for granted.

(seeing her live was also helpful in this regard: no surprises, but it forced me to pay more attention)

Didn't expect to get so earwormed by this or the SAS EP (and I still like Sugar And Spice more than anything on the album) this year but yeah it's practically perfect for what it is.

this album kind of frustrates me because there's loads I like about it but there must be elements of music I normally dislike in there as some of the tracks irritate me.

maybe it's the dreamy/ languid feel which gets a bit much, idk.

Stay With Me has the main hook lifted from something, it's exactly the same sound, something in the last few years I think, cannot for the life of me think what it is, but it's really familiar.

It's Joe Agius's "solo" project, which consist of the same lineup as Hatchie except he's singing main vocals. So it's basically a Hatchie track.

I like it a lot. I realize that this stuff is probably super derivative but they do know how to write a song!

he's hatchie's main guitarist/keyboardist & boyfriend, but yes he's formerly of the creases who are honestly not really worth knowing about. i saw them live once as an opening act and they were very forgettable

I listened to the one album that's on Spotify. It was perfectly ok, but probably once was enough.

I feel like these guys use the perfect shoegaze guitar / bass settings for me. Just the right mix of Cocteau Twins, Lush and Slowdive (with a bit of Sundays mixed in). And live they sound even better. I'm taking about Hatchie/Joe A.

Yeah this is best part about it for sure. The piano sound in particular is a nice touch.

Yes! I hadn't even payed attention to that. The first 35 seconds are very Happy Mondays. And then the guitar is full-on Shoegaze (a little on the noisier side this time).

That piano is very Madchester, I love this. Also she seems a lot more at ease in this video than any of her previous ones.

Maybe we can get Wax to reunite for a Wax / Hatchie / Waxahatchee tour.

I saw her play live a few years back and she was excellent - very faithful to the studio versions but for me at least that was absolutely not a problem.

Maybe my favorite live-sounding act (compared to how the sound on the record). They really crank up the shoegaze and it works beautifully.
