"Whatcha Wan Do" is prolly my favorite song on the album, haven't listened to it enough to discern between the 2 versions tho

OG "Whatcha Wan Do" for sushi/coochie/quote-unquote bourgie and for bringing back fucking YoYo. I mean... they really did that. It happened. Although "That's her nigger name" is definitely a point in the remix's favor.

the way it keeps going off at different tangents

this is one of those albums where while i'm listening to it and every song i'm like "oh this is the awesomest beat on the album" then next song i'm like "oh no way THIS is the best beat on the album"

It might be my favorite beat on the album. I love those rising riffs that get overlayed in harmony with the main riff.

i've heard the whole thing now and the wacky bananas beats make more sense nestled in the flow of the record. you sort of get taught how to listen to the beats, starting with some very satisfying but not particularly challenging back-in-the-day style grooves and gradually the center loses its ability to hold

maybe, but still pretty great in its own right. I love how quik's voice first comes in in this really unexpected way, with that wet reverb and then he has a funny-ass conversation with himself, especially the "you can fight the temptation"/"naw dawg she's as-si-an/ and she's finer than lacy stacy or kimmy kardashian" bit

i can't really get with "watcha wanna do", whoever said they'd like to hear e-40 on that beat was dead on though.
Kurupt _does_ get a little hit or miss on this after repeat listening; Quik sounds great throughout.

Cream is fucking dope as hell tho'.
