NOUGHT BUT THE TRUTH: 2000-2009 albums & tracks VOTING (and campaigning) thread DEADLINE OCTOBER 11

I kind of did what Silverfish did. I found myself throwing out several songs I'd previously rated highly. (BoC's Dawn Chorus is fine, but pretty repetitious and the voice samples completely ruin it for me.) I don't know why I used to consider this song a standout of that album, let alone the decade. One thing that made this poll so much fun is that this is probably my least favorite decade of music since the sixties, and it has caused me to take a closer listen to a lot stuff I missed.

Argh, I have 40 albums I definitely want to vote for and like another 40 I probably want to vote for and no time to listen to them all before arbitrarily squeezing them down. And the tracks "shortlist" is still in the hundreds...

Can I submit album and tracks polls separately or will that confuse the system?

(This is fun! Too bad I missed the nominations stage as I won't be able to vote for Cave - "Psychic Psummer" and probably a lot of other stuff I haven't thought of because thinking of it would be a waste of brainpower!)

Would it be bad to clutter this thread with things we would have nominated, or should we save those for after the results?

It surprised me a little how song-oriented my tracks ballot turned out, in sharp contrast to my albums ballot. I guess when I think in terms of tracks that stand out in my mind, it's songs that really register, at least as far as 00-09 goes.

one complaint i have is that my favorite ashanti song wasn't nominated ("rock wit you (awww baby)")

Submitted! This was way easier than originally anticipated, and highly nostalgic. Not nearly enough quality tracks nominated, but there were so many already present it was easier to cobble together a list. My top 10 albums could all be #1. Would be cool if I could do a reverse mixed ballot where the top 10 were unweighted (tied for 1st) and the rest were weighted.
