as Ulysses said above, there's a new Lone EP and it seems to be awesome based on this advance track

Based on these recommendations I will now listen to the new Lone track and the new Lone Track album. I don’t know these artists and may be doing something wrong, but I’m curious.

I don't understand Sfire or whats supposed to be good about what they've put out. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Heavy Messages (jed_), Saturday, 2 November 2019 05:14 (six years ago)

I've read (but can't find the quote) someone saying that sfire 7 is the most perfect end of night tune ever, or something like that. It sounds like a wonky 2.5 minute New Order demo to me.

Heavy Messages (jed_), Saturday, 2 November 2019 05:23 (six years ago)

sfire 7 sucks, but 2 is all-time. naive and wonky melodic closer is p classic idk

issa banger imo

davey, Thursday, 7 November 2019 14:15 (six years ago)

this thread has introduced me to sfire and i am thankful. btw everything i've heard on cocktail d'amore has been great. probably i don't want to sleep on the rest of that label's back catalog.

davey, Thursday, 7 November 2019 15:24 (six years ago)

I really want to go to cocktail d'amour one weekend. apparently berghain is much less busy the weekend that CTD'A is on.

One of the subtler tracks from the Lizz album. The best ones not up yet but this is a grower. Album is pretty sprawling so some tracks get lost

saer, Thursday, 7 November 2019 21:36 (six years ago)

i'm such a sucker for this sort of thing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAjHKH2DuDA

cheese canopy (map), Thursday, 7 November 2019 21:57 (six years ago)

yes! keep the good stuff coming. i've been exploring the rest of the CTD'A and it does not disappoint. i'm really digging the vampire boogie lately so it's hitting that sweet spot too. what a fine label.

Donato Dozzy & Anna Caragnano - Parola (Rework)

sorry if this was already linked here. amazing track

karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Friday, 22 November 2019 16:01 (six years ago)

I have a feeling that would grow on me if I gave it a few more tries but I'm not sure I need more minimal in my life. Although it could well be the crappy EQs on my system that I'm getting that from.

Agreed that Aroy Dee & Ma Spaventi is quite compelling. Didn't we agree to cancel "banger" tho?

The Robbenspierre track shows definite potential.

viborg, Saturday, 23 November 2019 02:27 (six years ago)

Oh yeah as far as the new Midland I'm more partial to Tortuga from the new EP but none of them are missteps. I was thinking about posting his recent outstanding NTS mix but haven't paid attention to charts of top rated DJs lately and don't know if he's too obvious a choice.

viborg, Saturday, 23 November 2019 02:36 (six years ago)

Another Robbenspierre, from a 12" coming out next month on new Italian label Threads

paolo, Sunday, 24 November 2019 16:52 (six years ago)

saer, Monday, 25 November 2019 07:49 (six years ago)

if ur like 'banger should be cancelled' and 'the midland mix is too obvious a choice' please do everyone else a service and don't go to parties thx

cheese canopy (map), Monday, 25 November 2019 19:40 (six years ago)

and the aroy d / ma spaventi track is a very pretty sad person who doesn't like to dance track that i like for my running playlist not for the club unless i want to feel like a loser. sorry guys just sprinkling a little salt out here with tongue in cheek got to keep the sidewalk from freezing.

cheese canopy (map), Monday, 25 November 2019 19:44 (six years ago)

at least be civilized and use an asterisk

b*nger

djdirtbagstyle, Monday, 25 November 2019 20:00 (six years ago)

bunger?

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Tuesday, 26 November 2019 18:39 (six years ago)

binger = a bong hit

I am indeed a loser if that was ever in question, cheesy canopy. And yeah it's true I don't really go to parties any more. The scene here sucks and often when I do go I get the "what's dad doing here?" look.

As for b*nger, I was genuinely under the impression that there was a consensus that it was so trite as to be practically meaningless. Or we could just call every song we like "epic" and it would denote exactly the same value. Whatever, call it what you like as long as someone keeps putting up a little good music here aside from all the dad rock that now dominates ILM.

viborg, Wednesday, 27 November 2019 22:31 (six years ago)

unfortunately reasons of taste are not a valid basis for cancellation, check the bylaws!

j., Wednesday, 27 November 2019 22:45 (six years ago)

it’s true, we used to sing in college “bing bing every time i come around your city bing bing sack of weed worth about a sixty bing bing”

djdirtbagstyle, Wednesday, 27 November 2019 23:44 (six years ago)

that was 20 yrs ago would be funny if they still said that in college

djdirtbagstyle, Wednesday, 27 November 2019 23:45 (six years ago)

Wasn't that 30 years ago? Or is there some new slang I'm not hip to.

I'd guess 'bing bing' is the sound a beeper makes.

viborg, Thursday, 28 November 2019 05:52 (six years ago)

Let’s just stick with ‘banger’, shall we?

Mark Thibideau on Vade Mecum. Had been playing some Repair tracks and saw this had come out this year. Didn't hit at first, but just came up on a Greggs bacon butty in the library and all is clear now
