the other Clearlake albums are tbf good, Lido is lifechanging

Blueberry Boat is by 'The Fiery Furnaces' on the album cover, that's good enough for me. (Also lifechanging)

Lido came along at just the right time for me, when I had just stopped doing drugs and was out of university with no degree and no job and was fried and sad and not sure what to do with my life, it felt like someone had captured my life and put it on cd, almost in a scary literal way.

Cedars is also very good. 'Almost The Same' might well be their best track.

my one-sentence review of Lido reads This album is a miracle coalescing from the Sussex sea air and capturing what all British indie ever was attempting to capture on their first goddamn try and really i don't have much to add, it is overwhelmingly resonant with the boredom and joy of being young, British and uncertain. I suppose I could add that the songwriting is exceptionally strong, but it's the mood above all that sustains it. i play it every xmas

I was kinda on board for a wee while after, but Lido was kinda sui generis from where I am sat. They gradually degenerated into trad zzzz

I DID IT. Actually managed a weighted ballot for both albums and tracks. Only a small amount of handwringing over the fact that I am, at the end of the day, indie schmindie (although aside from Spoon in the top ten, I think I fall outside the most predictable quadrant of that cliche.)

Frightened Rabbit also very high on my ballot.

I didn't squeeze Hood in (as it were) but very glad lots of other people are voting for it.

'Outside Closer'? It's great, all Hood is greater than great, but I have to vote for 'Cold House'.
