A Tribe Called Quest: We got it from Here... Thank You 4 Your service (2016)
I might've put this at number one myself, tbh
― Οὖτις, Tuesday, 8 October 2019 17:49 (six years ago)
They really butchered that albums list. I predict Rolling Stone will have a brilliant list that will stand the test of time better compared to this if only based on sincerity.Whatever Pitchfork brought to the table in their prime has been exchanged for something so dull. It feels like they want to be defined as both poptimists and alternative trendsetters but fail at both.
― ✖✖✖ (Moka), Tuesday, 8 October 2019 17:50 (six years ago)
Tribe album is one of my faves here, but I can't relate to how you see it as "disrespectful". Though I can kinda see Qtip making a video about this list now....
― maffew12, Tuesday, 8 October 2019 17:54 (six years ago)
Pitchfork Editor Thoughts: "You know what better represents the past decade and will prove to be a historically more important album than Beyoncé's Lemonade? That Lana Del Rey LP that came out five weeks ago."
― Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Tuesday, 8 October 2019 17:55 (six years ago)

Big KRIT - 4eva Is a Mighty Long Time
lol for real? I kinda got tired of waiting for Krit to make something as good as Return to 4eva and skipped his last couple
― Οὖτις, Tuesday, 8 October 2019 17:57 (six years ago)
honestly the top thirty or whatever feels like a list i would have made when i was 19 and trying to show off how diverse and openminded i was.

67. Courtney Barnett: Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit (2015)
smdh every time I see this godawful album title. The ‘10s was full of these.
― Mr. Snrub, Tuesday, 8 October 2019 17:59 (six years ago)
Barnett's second is stronger. Though I'm sorta surprised they didn't put in her record with Kurt Vile just to sum both of them up and make more room for whatever else. I mean that's the kind of list this is.
― maffew12, Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:01 (six years ago)
lol yeah that is ridic. 40 doesn't need Pform tbf.
― Οὖτις, Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:02 (six years ago)
Pfork
am I the only one who strongly prefers Pure Heroine to Melodrama?
No, I do too.
― Spry at 78 (morrisp), Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:02 (six years ago)
Migos - Culture didn't make it!!!
― Frederik B, Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:02 (six years ago)
right? what the hell with Migos on these lists? very low place for Bad and Boujee on songs list, and that's it

― flopsy bird (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:05 (six years ago)
I prefer Melodrama but Louvre on the songs list and no Green Light is just... who is this for?
― maffew12, Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:05 (six years ago)
Rich Gang, 'Tha Tour'
shocked this didn't make it, tbh, especially after there was a lot of twitter chatter about it just the other week
― flopsy bird (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:06 (six years ago)
KRIT should probably be K.R.I.T. Wuz Here (xpost to me)
― Whiney G. Weingarten, Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:06 (six years ago)
it is kinda interesting how completely migos are now persona non grata with the cool kids; probably all those sprite commercials
― Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:06 (six years ago)
4:44 also didn't make it. i wouldn't have picked it myself, but notable.
― flopsy bird (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:08 (six years ago)
Louvre on the songs list and no Green Light is just... who is this for?Totally! “Green Light” is the jam
― Spry at 78 (morrisp), Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:10 (six years ago)
This album list is so disagreeable to me... they didn’t even pick the right Parquet Courts, lol
― Spry at 78 (morrisp), Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:11 (six years ago)
the only good parquet courts album is the one with 'borrowed time' on it, whatever that was called
― flopsy bird (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:13 (six years ago)
That’s the one.
― Spry at 78 (morrisp), Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:15 (six years ago)
Green Light is not only the jam, it was also the lead single.. oh but let's have this middling deep cut instead anyways because "down the back, but who cares, still the Louvre" oh remember that, so cute, or wtfI hope these guys never make it to the Louvre! I'm gonna go now, I said I didn't care about Pitchfork. oh just some of these decisions oh my
― maffew12, Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:16 (six years ago)
Is Anti in there because it has a Tame Impala song and they’re less ashamed to love him via Rihanna?
― ✖✖✖ (Moka), Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:18 (six years ago)
Because that album sucks.
― ✖✖✖ (Moka), Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:19 (six years ago)
dawn richard did a song called 'the louvre' a few months earlier that was about 47384773x better, why don't we talk about that instead
― imago, Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:19 (six years ago)
they should've done top 50 'singles', top 50 deep cuts, top 50 tame impala related all separately
― nashwan, Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:22 (six years ago)
I bet if they did, it would be another song off Melodrama entirely. I just bet. oh good day.
― maffew12, Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:26 (six years ago)
honestly, if anything their tame impala enthusiasm has cooled a bit. currents got like a 9.3, right?

Tame Impala - Lonerism was in their top 10 (#7 iirc) in that mid-decade best of list they made and now it’s all the way down in #130. They definitely cooled down on their love for him or got ashamed of hyping him somewhere in the past couple of years.
― ✖✖✖ (Moka), Tuesday, 8 October 2019 18:32 (six years ago)
Tame Impala is a good band

putting something that came out a month ago on a decade-end list is a fun rhetorical move and should be applauded
