yeah "oblivion" will be top 10 (though that should be "realiti" rightfully) but i don't think visions will be that high (it was only #15 in the half-decade one) or even whether it'll place above art angels, probably both will be somewhere from 20s to 30s i'd think

looking at the 2010-14 list it already feels really weird, like there's no way sun kil moon is going to be anywhere that high still and how did real estate make it to #13? sort of curious whether people still love take care that much as well which is still probably the best drake release but also still massively overrated

Grouper, for example, my favorite album of the decade is AIA. it's not in the autosuggest, not as AIA or either of the companion albums. it prompts Ruins and The Man Who Died in His Boat. idk what this is based on

i just tried to make sense of the autosuggest, as i had been assuming it was just "anything that we've reviewed" or maybe "included on an EOY list" but there's all sorts of weird discrepancies so i have no idea

what'll be top 10 from 2010-14: mbdtf, probably mvotc but it should be contra, hopefully channel orange will over blonde though i don't think either should be, maybe idler wheel, maybe good kid maad city?

unlike the 00s where more generally end of decade lists seemed to heavily favour the more-established-at-that-point 00-04 canon and there was much less consensus over stuff from 05-09, i get the feeling this decade's lists will tend to favour the second half of the decade as a lot of the more acclaimed albums from the first half either haven't aged that well or have been surpassed to some degree by greater works from the same artists

Teen Dream will probably make the top 10, or at least top 15. It was 5 in the '10-'14 list and beach house are still quite popular, so it's got good odds

I'm also counting on some real curveballs on this list that none of us will expect (like, E-MO-TION cracking the top 20 for instance)

My prediction for the biggest curve-ball is that the last Childish Gambino album is a lot more popular than everyone thinks.

I voted with Ten Love Songs as my number one album and Inspector Norse as my single pick. Not expecting big things for either of them, but I'm sure we'll make up for that next year in our own poll.

bon iver didn't even make the top 20 in their half decade list, and if anything its stock has fallen even further since. as far as female artists go, at the very least solange or mitski will be top 10, and would expect fiona apple, beyonce, and grimes in top 20 at least. beach house too as far as female-fronted groups go

In the public vote, I can see Bon Iver still doing really well.

My predictions are heavily influenced by what we sell at work. We're still selling MBDTF very regularly, almost every week. I don't think the recent backlash has affected him as much as people think.

Oh yeah sorry, I just re-read the last part of this thread and it's clear we're talking about the staff list now (long day, not enough sleep etc) I was referring to the readers poll they opened up today. There's no way the writers top 10 will be all men (Solange, Mitski, Grimes, SZA etc).

I don't know about that, Pfork has been all over Bon Iver this summer. There was that article detailing every little thing he's done since the last album and that huge profile.
