For someone that came of age at a time few when trance and breaks couldn't have been more uncool, I feel both cycnical and intrigued re: their late-2010s repackaging. When it's done this effectively and tastefully, tho'

Yoyaku (and its many subsidiaries) is quickly becoming a favourite label

Also no surprise that Call Super's single on Peach Discs, All we have is Speed, is amazing.

We need to have a serious discussion about Bawrut. Between his remix of Nicola Cruz's "Espiritu de Proteccion" last year, then "Pioneers" and "Piano & Piano" circa NYE, and now "Pronto Arpeggio" and (especially) "Shooree", he's turned into this world-conquering combination of mid-00s Ame and KiNK,; ridiculously monumental banger after ridiculously monumental banger.

Take it to the TMI board.

a Tim Finney request for a serious conversation about a producer deserves attention and consideration. I will prepare myself. initial thoughts = i would like to hear all this trax at maximum volume.

and for fans of real music the Chris Korda album on Perlon is here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_Rbu0i1p3g
or some of it is in this Boiler Room Ibiza (you'll likely recognize the track at 30 minutes if you've been into a Greggs this summer)
― saer, Monday, 30 September 2019 14:45 (six years ago)
I wanted to hear that record, is it vinyl-only?

Korda's boiler room set was nice. Is Chris still encouraging people to kill themselves? I'm not much of a fan of that particular sort of edgelording.

with regard to Tim's post a week or so ago re: Bawrut, I think he is someone worth talking about. Personally I think he's very skilled in production terms but I find his tracks annoying, mostly. Shooreee is the one that I like. For most of the others I've heard, one listen is enough. Some of them don't bear a full listen to the end of the track tho. I just get annoyed by them.
― What a ridiculous clusterfuck of totally uncool jokers (jed_), Wednesday, 9 October 2019 22:30 (six years ago)
I can totally see/hear that others might find the aspects I find annoying to be interesting. Enjoy yourself!
