The Casual Dots - S/T, riot grrl as cold soul music. Sorta like early Cate Le Bon, if well before her.
The Marked Men - Ghosts I put this on a lot more frequently than Blood Visions and the A Frames, my other favorite punk albums of the decade.
Nethers - In Fields We Will Lie fell between the freak folk/heavy psychfolk interregnum, should please Heron Oblivion fans.

xpost Ooh yeah that Superpitcher album is a good call

I know right? It's weird diving into this period looking for selections. I'd refer to the noughts as the 'blogging days': everyone, including myself, had a blog back then. Blogs where we published our top tens of the year and such. As I'm really bad with years (did Superpitcher's album come out in '99 or '04? No idea!) I've wondered where to turn to. Itunes is useless, so is Spotify. RYM does some of the lifting, but ultimately I have to google if an album is from those years or not. It's pretty fascinating (apart from the fact that it reminds me that my mind is a sieve).

Stuff like Junior Boys and Dizzee Rascal are intrinsically linked to ILM gushfests for me
