I can't imagine how anyone -- young or old -- wouldn't find this insanely silly.
― Alex in NYC, Tuesday, 16 June 2009 16:26 (seventeen years ago)
why can't we return to the simple sanity of coheed and cambria
― 666 BESTIAL WALRUS 666 (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Tuesday, 16 June 2009 16:33 (seventeen years ago)
btw this sounds exactly like every other screamo band that's around right now, nothing new to see here. search other awful bands as underoath, the devil wears prada, etc
― Thanks, Casey Westcott Fleet Foxes (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 16 June 2009 16:35 (seventeen years ago)
the devil wears chowda
― Kerm, Tuesday, 16 June 2009 16:41 (seventeen years ago)
wait, underoath and the devil wears prada include hi-nrg synth moves in their songs too? maybe i should give those bands another chance.
― scott seward, Tuesday, 16 June 2009 16:53 (seventeen years ago)
These guys sound nothing like Underoath (not that I'm mounting a defense of either, btw) and only a little like Devil Wears Prada. Actually I think these goofs make TDWP look like frickin' Coalesce by comparison.

Is that a compliment?
― Alex in NYC, Tuesday, 16 June 2009 17:00 (seventeen years ago)
I was thinking this song had everything too, but now I realize it doesn't have any rapping. FROWNY EMOTICON.
― bendy, Tuesday, 16 June 2009 17:05 (seventeen years ago)
Its a backhanded compliment to The Devil Wears Prada for not sucking THIS bad.
― the sideburns are album-specific (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Tuesday, 16 June 2009 17:06 (seventeen years ago)
this song is the bomb
― autogucci cru (deej), Tuesday, 16 June 2009 18:15 (seventeen years ago)
but is it the bomb-diggity
― am0n, Tuesday, 16 June 2009 18:46 (seventeen years ago)
yes
― autogucci cru (deej), Tuesday, 16 June 2009 18:50 (seventeen years ago)
musically the first minute isn't so bad, overused autotune effect aside.
the eurodance breakdown at the end is hilarious
― abanana, Tuesday, 16 June 2009 19:17 (seventeen years ago)
Can I simultaneously proclaim it awesome, and never really watch it again?

Yes, it needs rapping.

oh my god this song :D
cannot choose between 'virtuoso' piano moment, first appearance of autotune or eurodance rave-up

*watches* "So, what does the keyboard player do other than headbang behind his rig?"
*later* "Oh."
*later still* "Ohhhhhhhhh."
― Tantrum The Cat, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 02:39 (seventeen years ago)
wow I thought BEP's "I Gotta Feeling" would be the funniest song I'd hear this week but checkfuckingmate
― da croupier, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 02:48 (seventeen years ago)
Come on, this is great.
― Sundar, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 02:56 (seventeen years ago)
I love how the keyboard player isn't plugged into anything, no power, no cords to the amp, nothing.
I also love how the kid walks in right as the trance synth kicks in. Not only will the other kids not let you in to the show, but when you do finally sneak in it turns out that they were all going to see Aqua.

So I had to stop by the mall to pick up something for my wife and decided to stop in Hot Topic. Don't laugh, its one of the few brick and mortar stores in my area that regularly carries Century Media and Nuclear Blast releases. ANYWAY. Brokencyde and Attack Attack were everyfuckingwhere. I mean, they had AT LEAST 30 copies of each and tshirts tshirts tshirts. Apparently this is most definitely a THING.

only in America. i hope. i pray.

hopefully attack attack fares better than brokencyde did in wikipedia's estimation of their relevance

totally prefer Brokencyde, though I do hope (as always) that some more focused youngsters somewhere will provide lengthier explorations of the trance/metal connection

in fact I would like to solicit ILM's recommendations for not-too-cheesy trance + metal that doesn't come from cheeky noise bands, because Tatu could only go so far

― 鬼の手 (Edward III), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 18:31 (seventeen years ago)
this entire thread can be summed up thusly
BrokeNCYDE single vond ik leuk op een debiele manier, Hollywood Undead had ook een paar aardige singles. Attack Attack! is waardeloos. Beste van het stel is wat mij betreft HORSE the Band met heel veel voorsprong.
― 鬼の手 (Edward III), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 18:32 (seventeen years ago)

on the same level as Oatmeal guy's response to the Gawker article, though at least in that situation both participants can take care of themselves rather than being "lol crabcore guy no write good".

So I just recently realized that the "clean" vocalist from Attack Attack! now performs as the ridiculously named Bilmuri and is actually somewhat popular? He sold out a place here in town this week. I wonder if he has any crabcore left in his show.
