Worst ever festival line up?

I can picture a white jeep circa 1999 with stickers on the back for Cure, Pixies, Deftones. And of course NIN. Likely RHCP or Jane's Addiction too.

I can definitely imagine my friends who were into the pixies in the early 90s rolling their eyes at The Cure, but yeah by the end of the decade those two constituencies seem to have merged.

that mad decent fest was definitely not a “troll.” it was heavily
promoted at the big festival here (boston calling) and the billie eilish show in june (she was one of the headliners and i’m betting she fueled a lot of ticket sales). the stadium where it was held was likely banking on it being huge as its concert schedule this year was much more sparse than 2018’s, which had taylor, beyoncé/jay-z, and two kenny chesney shows as its high points (this year there were only five shows total counting mad decent).

that said the heat this past weekend would have likely put the kibosh on it like it did with ozyfest in nyc. miguel can’t catch a break!

never underestimate the festival promoter with "ideas" who books a bunch of different acts hoping they'll attract several distinct groups and bump up ticket sales

not to mention the world’s largest bouncy house

tunes on the sand upthread has nailed the 'regional lib dem' aesthetic

given the 80k capacity (and less than gushing publicity), i am suspicious that the ozyfest cancellation was a lucky case of them being able to make more money through insurance than ticket sales but what do i know.

I keep getting Amazon email spam for this festival, even though I've clicked "Unsubscribe" several times. Therefore, it is the worst festival:

really gonna miss out on what's going on with Beeple and Ouchhh and "a drone light show celebrating women in tech"

I have a lot of feelings on this from multiple directions, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it doesn't seem like that compelling of a festival proposition

can't wait to see Kacey Musgraves (?!) perform as drones spell out ADA LOVELACE in the sky

looks fun and there's cheap tickets with various promo codes floating around out there. i'll be there.

Compared to everything upthread that one looks like good fun actually. Except for Snow Patrol. But why are they so far down the bill? Is this an old one?

I caught The Hu a few months ago and they were excellent live. But probably better experienced in a club half-filled with every Mongolian-American in the metropolitan area instead of the middle of the day in a field with a bunch of Staind fans.
