love 30 century man, down to the idiosyncratic title.

i thought the jay-z version of beware of the boys (mundian to bach ke) sampled the bassline from the knight rider theme too, but nothing listed for it on whosampled

Yay! I’d resigned myself to Rosa Yemen not appearing. This was #2 or #3 for me I think? It is just the very coolest music. The ‘whole’ album/EP is very worth ten minutes of your life.

Expected that to be much higher, such a perfect song.

Voted for different Devo and Scott tracks - I didn't keep to one song per artist entirely but tried to cut down where I could. Napalm Death had to get moved to feature only in my under 30s ballot, 'Frownland' was longlisted but cut, LM Descloux an incredibly painful cut right at the end. So basically, I'm very into most of this run.

good catch, i had tunnel vision for knight rider so i missed that

lightworks < vocal version for lightworks = dilla

i am not a big fan of scott walker but that song is really nice. i didn't know that he can actually sing like a normal human being without trying to be an opera singer.

the vocal track is isolated in the left track on 30 Century Man. take out one ear and appreciate it in all its glory.

xpost Never Talking To You Again - perfect at 1:41. Say what you're going to say, strum that acoustic guitar, and don't drag it out unnecessarily since you're not going to talk to them again anyway.

why i like this poll: 'in accordance to natural law' is not as good an under 30 seconds song as 'you suffer', but it is a better under 2 minutes song than 'you suffer'

In the aftermath of the <30 seconds poll, I listened to "In Accordance..." again and it is awesome, could very well have earned a place on my main ballot.

yeah, a little odd, but there were only 20 ballots for the <30 seconds side-poll vs 66 for the full thing. also 8 votes for You Suffer v only 4 for "In accordance"!

oops - i didn't realize there was a vocal version of raymond scott's lightworks! (although once i heard it, i recognized it from songs that sampled it). should i assume that every one who voted for raymond scott was voting for the vocal version with dorothy collins?

Every configuration of 'Lightworks' was on my shortlist but all were culled at the last second. I'll be emitting a 'yay!' with any appearances here, but it'll be tinged with guilt.

Holy shit if 30 Century Man cancels out Cowbells Shakin' I will be so pissed.

Also, I voted for that Noname song, that album is a classic.
