I watched the 'premiere.' video was ok, missed that wes anderson directed it, didn't seem like it. bizarre color palette - sugar overload/cake flavored ice cream aesthetic? I was with the song until the chorus, more anonymous new muzak. is this for a kids movie?

"Spelling is fun" and you "can't spell awesome without me" is abominable, condescending. Terrible choices. That said, I still kind of like this somehow and it's bound to be a huge inescapable hit in the same vein as Can't Stop The Feeling. Fun and lighthearted works better for her than the dark me vs. the world Taylor.

The overall immediate reaction seems pretty mixed to negative, though. One of the surprising things to me about the initial reaction to this is how much people seemingly ended up coming around on reputation.

I never came around on Reputation -- save a few cuts -- and this song feels even more forced.

I hated We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, Shake It Off, and Look What You Made Me Do for a long time when they first came out, so I'm going to reserve my judgement until I hear a birthday party full of 8-year-olds trying to sing along to it this summer. I don't think it's terrible, although there are some parts I don't like ("there's a lot of lame guys out there" stands out). The video (and particularly Brandon Urie's dumb face) makes me want to put my head through a wall, although the melting dress at the end is a good kind of nightmare fuel, imo.
