The more money you have the more you can obsess and unmix tracks by too much tweaking

The bass guitar sound on this probably links it more the my old 4AD favorites than it likely would otherwise, but I'm ok with being microtargeted.

Interesting, it reminds me of the bass tone on "Come As You Are".

Great song. Love that she worked with Dean Hurley on this (whose Anthology Resource was quietly the best musical thing that came out of the Twin Peaks reboot).

it has to be on the way. even the most clueless at her label must understand that she's more about full-length projects and is unlikely to score a hit single. i doubt they'd let her release anything unless it was to set up an album release.

I don't think it even has anything to do with that, I suspect it was mentioned in a press release or interview and then interpreted as fact at some point, with or without ever hearing the song

the arrangement really makes the song. so strikingly beautiful.

After several minutes of trying to figure out what this song reminded me of I realized it was this Kesha demo from when she was going to cut an album with The Flaming Lips:
