ilxor Altair Noveau has a 12" coming out soon (today?) on dfa that's pretty nice.

urgh... based on the tracks on free energy's myspace they sound pretty damn insufferable dude. i was beginning to think dfa was becoming reliable or something.

BLACK METEORIC STAR, on the other hand, makes me want to forget all about it

i dig the free energy songs but they're the most un-dfa tracks i could imagine short of twee pop

free energy is so corny -- lyrics are so generic

DFA's webshop has the three black meteoric star 12"s available as a bundle with free posters, i see. are the full-length versions of the trax going to be available as digi-downloads or is this going to be a basic channel-type scenario?

just came back from hearing justin and jacques (and lovefingers) dj at what used to be a sex club while dancing on the bottom of what used to be a small pool. I left early because I'm old, but it was pretty cool, even though I thought the false floor on the bottom of the pool above the lights seemed like it might let me fall through at any moment.

It looks like the 12"s don't come with the posters unless you buy as a bundle, and if you buy them together you get them all at once instead of on their release dates. LOVING this album, especially "World Eater."

Found it! It is called "Simple Things (Work It Out) (Serge Santiago Remix)" by Shit Robot and it will be released on July 14th. Awesome!

ugh so is there any reason that dfa is re-releasing this woolfy album from two years ago with 2 fewer original tracks (replaced by remixes)? are these remixes worth it, did they re-record things or what?

Really, really feeling the Black Meteoric Star. Way more than expected (although I'm not sure why, I really liked the D and G album). Especially love "Death Tunnel", "Dominatron", "Dreamcatcher", and "Anthem".

new Holy Ghost! single "I Will Come Back" is great, possibly better than "Hold On"

Black Meteoric Star album is FANTASTIC. It's like the missing link between Orbital and krautrock, just so WARM and fuzzy and oh the textures, the sonic textures. It's full of wub and I love it.

is his stuff with Delia Gonzales like this? Coz in that case, I need to get some of that.

That's Tangerine Dreamy minimalist synthy stuff, different but still very good.

"yeah, we got a very small run of white labels today and we're going to give a handful to one of our favorite record stores in NYC to give away. We're also doing a limited run of full artwork 12"s beautifully designed by DFA art wiz Michael Vadino, the ENTIRE run of which will be given away too (just have to figure out how). That's a couple weeks away though.

And we got killer remixes from DJ Mehdi and Classixx - did I mention that? "

OK, I no longer understand genres at all, because that Petar Dundov remix thingey, to my ears, that is just straight up dronerock. A wonderful thing indeed.
