bought it - you just add to cart and they discount it by what you’ve already bought. In my case I bought the 24 bit set previously so adding the 17 new ones was only charged at $1.50 per show/track (making it $25.50 for 17 hours of admittedly-similar live sets)

are they different enough to warrant listening to though

I'll have to follow this thread to see what the group loves most out of these 19 releases, then I'll...consider buying one or two? Would be more psyched if there was a physical release honestly. (And, fair enough, I did cop Elseq a few years back, but am trying to cop fewer things that are just collections of files)

i do too, but groups like autechre need to fuck up every once in a while with their releases so that in the late 2020s when they finally release a physical copy we'll have reason to get pumped mid-2010's style

yea the artwork for elseq kinda begs for a deluxe foldout vinyl

do all 28 share the same basic backing track & can they be mixed into 1?

it’s more like they share similar progressions, but the guys shape the way that they evolve, when they transition, etc

there was an evolution in the first lot of live sets, more elements were gradually added to the mix. might start with the last of the new ones and see how different it is.

I am (with some regret) going to be honest with myself and pass on this entirely, even though $33 for roughly 28 hours of music is an excellent price. For one thing, I am way too busy to ever get around to listening to all or even a significant percentage of it, and for another, I just don't like music that comes in one-hour slabs. I like discrete tracks, preferably anywhere from three to ten minutes. So...nope.

Listening back to the Denver recording (we were there) - Ae's sets have definitely progressed somewhat from the European dates (Dublin + Utrecht are favorites), timbre-wise, and re: transitions in between 'parts'-- the general flow of things feels different ... seeing them live, it was was one of the most psychedelic sound experiences I've ever had.. quite a treat to be able to hear direct / desk recordings of that show. For $1.50

For what it's worth, I kinda consider most of the post-Confield Ae albums (save for Quaristice \ 'versions') as whole "slabs" of almost continuous material. These live sets contain some of the rawest and most wholesome 'Autechre-speak', to my ears. It seems like they really honed the AE_LIVE material on these later USA dates... the textures are gorgeous. First four minutes of the Denver set is outta this world

Denver is good, I think Chicago is the best I've heard so far though.

All 28 recordings are on Spotify! Elseq too. Just after I bought them all, oh well at least I've funded a takeaway or two for sean & rob.

I think you could tie in some of those pattern names to the live sets, would put money on rave verver = e.g. Krakow @ 18:55.

it did make me think of your efforts to notate those first 9 live sets. but this is from 2008 (based on filename). would they be using the same components?

Kinda wish I had a Monomachine and MachineDrum just to load their set files. Not sure if it was here or somewhere else but there's a youtube video out there of someone playing with their patches on a Monomachine from that 2008 tour.

honestly i kind of expect that after the physical forms of Brown & Booth expire, their patches and algorithms will continue generating new music, virtually indistinguishable from their previous work, in some corner of the internet for eternity
