ILM’s Top 77 Tracks of 2018

"Ubala" is the first track I voted for to place. I hadn't heard it before someone repped for it in the voting thread, and that certainly worked, as stuff like this is right up my alley. So beautiful and strong.

Voted for the Simmy album but not for any of her tracks. Happy to see both of these in here!

perhaps not worth pointing out, but if ILM had an individual single to get behind with voting, Simmy could well have made the top three

The second of the two Simmy records isn't bad, best of the day so far even if it does sound like music you hear in an airport advising of the business possibilities in Shenzhen or Astana

hatchie! one of my favorite eps of the year, was hard to select a single song from it

everything seems to have the same vibe today

I liked the Kasper Marott track a lot. Simmy is good but I agree with Saer, it sounds a little laser-focused in a commercial sense

the whole Hatchie EP was lovely if very dream-pop-by-the-numbers and she was surprisingly great live

i guess this can be accused of being too pastichey but i personally love to remember how much i love the sundays while listening to another artist

I went with Sugar & Spice, but happy to have any Hatchie track place. Whole ep was like a mini-Thriller.

This sums how I feel about Hatchie. The whole EP is so effortlessly joyful. Ended up voting for Sure and I'm delighted to see it place. Really hope she can maintain this level of quality over an album when it comes (hopefully soon!)

if someone w/ music theory chops beyond grade 1 cld pin down what is going on with the beat/flow interplay I wld be v curious because I am a slave to it
