Only quip with the mixtapes is that it doesn't give you a tracklist. Is that right, or am I not searching right?

on some shows the DJ will respond in the chat, other shows they'll post the setlist in the chat while the show is going out

Had no idea there was a chat. The NTS digital presence looks great, and looks like it should be easy to navigate, but it isn't at all. Fortunately, the self-selected audience doesn't mind digging around and being baffled. Am I on Mixcloud? Will this archived set show a playlist? What happens when i click on a new show while one is playing? It seems different each time, but the delight of the programming outweighs frustration.

Ah I had that for a short while, but you'll get used to these things quickly. I kind of like having to put in *some* effort as a listener to find your way around idk. Never knew about the cht either, but that's because it's the last thing I'd look for. Proves useful for track id's though!

chat gets pretty lively at times, mostly during uk mornings (charlie bones show), also for ruf dug and moxie and flo and a few other afternoon things. those djs do tend to talk back to the chat a lot, so sometimes stuff makes more sense if you're in there. it's mostly nonsense but it's quite funny sometimes

i listen to charlie bones early morning at the gym and then entertain myself at work by scrolling way back into the chat to get all the track ids i missed.

The Mixcloud archives are going up now. There still isn't a great way to download & listen offline, is there (aside from 'Mixcloud Select')?

There are very easy paste-and-save services but you’ve still got 40kbps files at the end

anyone else now lost the ability to pause and rewind shows and getting a message about subscribing to mixcloud premium instead?

mixcloud premium is the worst

I've never been able to rewind on mixcloud (free, in the US), can at least pause though.

TBH I kind of wish that NTS would join that new "Mixcloud Select" thing so that we can get offline access via the Mixcloud app. I'd pay a fiver a month for that, given how extensive the NTS archive is.

I find it baffling that Mixcloud Premium doesn't include offline access, which is pretty much the one thing they could offer that I'd feel incentivised to pay for.

I mightconsider premium if they improved their app which is very glitchy, at least for me. I'll really miss the ability to scroll through NTS shows uninhibited.

this kinda sucks, oh well. I usually put them on and just listen through anyway

mixcloud app (via the nts app) has always been super clunky, it flakes out all the time

rhythm section w/ bradley zero always has good music of all kinds but christ he needs to shut the fuck up, one of those djs who can't just let a track play but has to interrupt constantly. you think he's done when he gives a single shoutout or a track name -- he'll turn the volume back up ---then he turns it back down to give another shoutout -- volume up and i tink I AM FREE TO HEAR THIS AMAZING TRACK but nope here is another shoutout, then another, then a story about how he found that piece of wax at the corner shop back in the day, meanwhile the track is three minutes in and you give up

I just love the idea of NTS residents standing by to take my call, though

the funding of nts has always been a mystery to me! will be happy to sign up to this though - probably listen to about 60-70 hours of nts per month, so it's the least i could do
