I was wondering that chaki - I mean, I'm hardly a great musician but I do play and I wonder whether that just attunes your ear so that the second Vai does that opening slide you go 'wait dude's amp sounds like it cost a dollar'

The first one I watched, I couldn't tell if somebody had rerecorded the part or just ran it through some kind of anti-autotuner or maybe it was the actual recovered part from the original gig that had later been overdubbed/tweaked/buried in the mix to sound better. Like one of those Linda Macca backing vocals.

Maybe it is for musicians. The "Iron Man" riff from EVH hit me hard since that's one of the few songs I know how to play on the guitar.
