Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 1 March 2005 03:05 (twenty-one years ago)

May 29 or so, on Vice

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Tuesday, 1 March 2005 03:06 (twenty-one years ago)

(two weeks after Vice release . . . Boredoms' Seadrum/House of Sun!)

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Tuesday, 1 March 2005 03:06 (twenty-one years ago)

May? That isn't fair. The UK gets it next week.

The Brainwasher (Twilight), Tuesday, 1 March 2005 03:08 (twenty-one years ago)

We got it last year!

The station appears to have some kind of 'chat and music hour' for kids and their parents hosted by Jez Edwards and a bunch of others in the early evening.

This sounds so nice and old-fashioned.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 1 March 2005 11:01 (twenty-one years ago)

that's something like "Little Toe Radio" I think

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Tuesday, 1 March 2005 11:06 (twenty-one years ago)

we've had it since august la'.
as we lengthily waffled on about up there.

piscesboy, Tuesday, 1 March 2005 16:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Just so people know, the ACTUAL single release of Heartbeat over here was yesterday, and judging by the midweeks, it is BOMBING. In a bad sense.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Tuesday, 1 March 2005 17:33 (twenty-one years ago)

it's okay William, the charts don't mean anything anymore anyway, hyuck hyuck...

Sven Bastard (blueski), Tuesday, 1 March 2005 17:36 (twenty-one years ago)

No, as in, BOMBING. As in, it's not in the top 40 and is being outsold by Hell Is For Heroes.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Tuesday, 1 March 2005 17:40 (twenty-one years ago)

the constant updating of the release date cant have helped the record labels promo machine ..

mark e (mark e), Tuesday, 1 March 2005 19:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Hahahaha.

(Because it's now actually funny watching something so theoretically simple get so royally messed up)

Deerninja B4rim4, Plus-Tech Whizz Kid (Barima), Tuesday, 1 March 2005 20:02 (twenty-one years ago)

'Heartbeat' was the first Annie song I ever heard, on Fluxblog last summer. It's weird to finally be holding the 12" in my hand.

All go out and buy it this week, go on.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 13:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Show me the money, ho.

BARMS, Wednesday, 2 March 2005 13:49 (twenty-one years ago)

it is the historic duty of ilm to make this uk no. 1.

NRQ, Wednesday, 2 March 2005 13:51 (twenty-one years ago)

How is Heartbeat out this week? I have a heartbeat single! I bought it with money, and everything! Last year etc.

Plausibly that's what not helping sales etc.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 13:52 (twenty-one years ago)

What? When did you buy a Heartbeat single? Are you sure you're not thinking of Chewing Gum? Or the album? Or some Maltesers?

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 13:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Because the promo juggernaut sure steamrollered resistance last time round, eh?

x-p

BARMS, Wednesday, 2 March 2005 13:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Like "Chewing Gum", this was not playlisted by Radio 1.

JoB (JoB), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 14:50 (twenty-one years ago)

The Daily Telegraph carries an interview with Annie tomorrow (Thursday). It's not online yet, but I'll provide a link when it is.

davidsim (davidsim), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 22:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Wow, I kept clicking on this thread when there were new posts hoping there was something about a U.S. release and now there is.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 23:34 (twenty-one years ago)

It's not getting released at all in mainland Europe...

JoB (JoB), Thursday, 3 March 2005 12:24 (twenty-one years ago)

From the Telegraph: A fjord fiesta with the Norwegian Kylie

"They gave me this very long script, to say how Norwegian hip hop is so amazing. But I can't say that, because I don't think it is," she says. "So I've chopped it down to one sentence: "And the winner is…!"

davidsim (davidsim), Thursday, 3 March 2005 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I love the shout out from (and to) Norwegian black metal at the end of the feature.

BARMS, Thursday, 3 March 2005 15:50 (twenty-one years ago)

she's ours and ours only

Sven Bastard (blueski), Thursday, 3 March 2005 15:58 (twenty-one years ago)

NRQ, Thursday, 3 March 2005 16:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Has the Telegraph given up on rockism, then?

BARMS, Thursday, 3 March 2005 16:04 (twenty-one years ago)

BTW, I finally typed 'rockism'. Someone bookmark the date.

BARMS, Thursday, 3 March 2005 16:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Hush That Fuss: Torrygraph Get Crunk

I'm so disappointed Annie hasn't blown up while a shit fucking travesty of Kate Bush is in the charts. Fuck it all.

NRQ, Thursday, 3 March 2005 16:08 (twenty-one years ago)

How are the remixes on the Heartbeat single? I've heard the Maurice Fulton one and like it fine, but I'm curious about the Phones one.

Vice is putting this out? And the Boredoms E.P. too??

Bent Over at the Arclight (Bent Over at the Arclight), Thursday, 3 March 2005 19:21 (twenty-one years ago)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/collective/A3739142

“Madonna could make another great record but she’s stuck with [producer] Mirwais. She should get with someone new. Like me.”

.. be careful what you wish for ..

so.

answer Annie answers BBC Collective q's but not mine.

the pecking order is well defined.

one day though ..

ha.

mark e (mark e), Friday, 4 March 2005 22:27 (twenty-one years ago)

surely William Orbit should be dissed before Mirwais!

Sven Bastard (blueski), Friday, 4 March 2005 23:48 (twenty-one years ago)

An excellent album it is anyway. Has been out in Norway since last autumn, and Annie has won several best newcomer awards. All of them well-deserved.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Friday, 4 March 2005 23:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Annie was at the Run the Road night at Fabric last night! She walked past us as we were coming in, ie she left at about 1am and missed Kano :(

The Lex (The Lex), Saturday, 5 March 2005 09:54 (twenty-one years ago)

For the record: new entry at no. 50 in UK chart.

JoB (JoB), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 17:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Annie in dissing labelmate shockah!

BARMS, Tuesday, 8 March 2005 17:27 (twenty-one years ago)

"why'd they rig his chart position and not mine?"

Sven Bastard (blueski), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 17:35 (twenty-one years ago)

is stephen trousse an ILM-er?

either way he's given ANNIEMAL a
major big up in this month's UNCUT
-*****/***** too.

piscesboy, Tuesday, 8 March 2005 17:40 (twenty-one years ago)

pete b. (pete b.), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 17:45 (twenty-one years ago)

ah right i thought he must be One of Us ! brill-o!

piscesboy, Tuesday, 8 March 2005 17:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Pad!

Deerninja B4rim4, Plus-Tech Whizz Kid (Barima), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 18:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I still love Annie and I listen to "Heartbeat" all the time.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 18:18 (twenty-one years ago)

'[my t-shirts]are going to be in Top Shop, so that's quite exciting!'

zebedee (zebedee), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 14:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I think the designer is Peter Jensen.

JoB (JoB), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 15:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Going out at 1am means Norway = Ghana.

Also, this:

I also think she's quite short. According to Richard, I'm a bit taller, so I don't think we have much in common.

Her thing with Rachel S is pretty funny considering who walked away with the better Richard X-ness (and chart placing).

BARMS, Wednesday, 9 March 2005 15:09 (twenty-one years ago)

LOS ANGELES ALERT

Anniemal is available on import at Amoeba for $24.98

Gear! (can Jung shill it, Mu?) (Gear!), Friday, 11 March 2005 05:02 (twenty-one years ago)

she has a 'thing' with rachel stevens?

_NRQ, Friday, 11 March 2005 09:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Rowr.

Rachel S is shorter than Annie? Is she some sort of dwarf?!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 11 March 2005 09:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Annie is obsessed with the shortness that is common among pop princesses. She stood next to me on tippy toes after all. And she recently made sure to mention Kylie's height when talking about her, in very fond terms too.

BARMS, Friday, 11 March 2005 09:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Has she not seen Kylie's new video?

JoB (JoB), Friday, 11 March 2005 11:45 (twenty-one years ago)
