The one with the toilet on the cover def has its moments, as do the albums and EPs before the split, but those three records are just sublime to me.

i don't think so! if i see him around town i'll have to ask. don't think there's been a howling hex show in a while. they've been getting noisy/abstract this year.

No, there's a new studio album due in the new year. It *sounds like Neil's on it, but I haven't listened v closely yet. It's definitely more fun than the live album, which I found a bit of a drag.

Don’t know what the “punchline” would be — a show here in L.A. was cancelled at last minute, earlier this year, due to some weird drama. The $$ was refunded; but that experience plus these tweets by Neil = me for sure not buying tix to upcoming show in advance.

For years, he ran this "collaborative blog" thing at a site called Soapblox -- it was the main Howling Hex webpage -- and it was pretty cool. He would do most the main posts, and users could comment; but you could also submit articles/posts that he would approve for publication if he liked them enough. But he shut it down suddenly at some point in the early 2010s.

to be clear i like jennifer's songs but there had been theorizing above that she is the one driving the new royal trux but nmh being less active, and this press release/new song seem to point that way

Haven’t listened to the new track yet; but I wouldn’t be surprised if Neil had less involvement in this LP than he did in, like, the first Weird War album.

If that is the case, I only have a problem with it inasmuch as it's being labeled a Royal Trux album. Like I'd be cool if they each guested on the other's albums but don't tease.

The new song kinda sounds like Trux-pastiche (like the other two). And the "coke mirror" aesthetic... I dunno.

this was posted on the Facebook Event page for the Philly show

"Due to some unresolved issues arising from a past arrest, Royal Trux will be rescheduling their North American Tour. Jennifer is incredibly grateful that she will not be spending any time in jail, and in her own words, states: "Shit could definitely be worse.”

She regrets that her inconvenience may affect the fans' and ticket buyers but is looking forward to the shows being rescheduled for later this Spring.

New dates will be announced shortly, tickets purchased in advance will be honored for the new dates."
