Good to read that Lifetime is still going. Hope they find the time/inspiration to record a new album, the 2007 album was great.

Is this the thread where I can talk about Drug Church? I had no idea there was a new album, & then yesterday I checked Wikipedia to see how many years it had been since their last album, and it turns out the answer was: .00274 years

They're touring on back of a new single that they encored with
"Sorry, that's the whole set, we didn't rehearse any other songs we wrote twenty years ago"

can't think of another band that sounds quite like this drug church record even though it's reminding me of a lot of related things. it kicks ass

i am no punk rock expert, but to me Drug Church feels like Fucked Up meets the Pixies
― alpine static, Tuesday, 6 November 2018 16:43 (five years ago) link

thanks for posting about Drug Church, really good
I get a Leatherface kinda vibe from them, vocally, also Wilderness which is weird/unexpected

It's particularly nice to hear Patrick shouting again -- on the basis of this year's disappointingly subdued Self-Defense Family record, I was afraid his voice might be shot.

i feel like i'm the only person who has noticed how many bangers are on this year's dashboard confessional album
― Mordy, Tuesday, 13 November 2018 21:06 (five years ago) link
it's got a few good songs but is really disjointed idk
― princess of hell (BradNelson), Tuesday, 13 November 2018 21:11 (five years ago) link
it's front half heavy but so many good singalongs
― Mordy, Tuesday, 13 November 2018 21:13 (five years ago) link
I have to admit that despite (because of?) their intensely one-note grey po-faced approach I've probably listened to the Pianos Become the Teeth album the most of any emo-sector record this year. a lot of stuff didn't connect for one reason or another, I didn't even really get into the Vespucci after all, mainly because Farren bores me as a lyricist/frontperson too much of the time

It grew on me so much. Catch You is one of my most listened-to tracks this year.
I saw DC last night at the first London show in over ten years. I was freaking out for a week in advance and continue to freak out. I saw them once at Glastonbury in 2006 but that wasn't the same kind of experience at all...of all the emo sing-alongs, this was the most wildly exalting. He also played a new song he'd just written which sounded way more like old Dashboard and was pretty great.
