Is that the one that starts (freakily enough) with They Came From The Stars (I Saw Them)?

I was listening to that yesterday, and apart from that, it made me very happy indeed.

It starts with Fleet Foxes, but They Came From The Stars appear early on.

My 10 track Aeroplane primer, excluding the ones you've already heard, would probably include:

saw them in Glasgow on Saturday. Audience going mental for Friendly Fires was great, and ending on William's Blood was perfect. Highly recommended.

They're playing at Loop Festival. Between them and Fever Ray and Telepathe and The Field and everything else, it's looking better and better.

Henrik Schwarz has said he's gonna stop making remixes for a while because he keeps on squandering ideas he'd otherwise save for his album and for 12 inches.

I think we should all agree not to bump this thread until something new turns up, or there's news of an album. Every time I see it in New Answers I get excited and then swiftly disappointed.

k ftr, i haven't heard everything he has produced, just around 7 tracks, none of which did anything for me. thanks for the suggestions; i knew there had to be more awesomeness out there

Tavira is his best work in my book.

tensnake's new one- in the end (i want to cry)- is fuckin great if you ask me. also every track on the 'keep believin' ep is way solid, esp "tavira"

and "congolal" is a one of my all-time favorite nu-balearic tunes

"Tavira" is pretty astonishing; it's also a track that seems purpose-built for use in Aeroplane sets.

I also loved Tensnake's "Around The House" from way back when, though that was in a different style to his current stuff.

yeah, i thought "around the house" was pretty nice but had none of that wide-eyed euphoria that's all over those two remixes. i'll be checking out those tracks yall mentioned.

They've got that OOOOOOOH SOO SMOOOOOOOTH phasey keyboard sound I haven't heard since Duran Duran. They make me want to sit on a yacht in a white bikini and bird of paradise makeup and sip odd pink cocktails. soooo good.

Yeah, I thought they were the same thing until I accidentally downloaded the wrong one!

I don't actually know what the difference is apart from 4 seconds longer. In fact, listening to them note for note next to one another... I think there's just slightly more step delay on the non-Italo one and the EQ is slightly different? I'm not even trusting my ears at this point. Maybe they're the same and it's entirely psychological that I view the non-Italo one as more "swhirly" and less "crisp"

i was driving the other day with nothing to listen to, threw in an old mix cd i made a year and a half ago, and their fool for love remix came on. i can't remember if it's gotten much hype on here, but it's so great. much more in style with what they were coming out with originally

yeah, that remix seems underrated.

the das pop rmx was the first thing of theirs that i heard and i still rate it as one of the best things they've done - love those stupid huge italo keyboards

xpost- only original i've heard is fever ray, but ya still there are divisive indie-electro-pop vocals all over this thing

fever ray is the one which is other way round - love the og but kinda don't want to hear another rex the dog remix in 2009 - you just know it's gonna be so formulaic

aeroplane has always been remixers of mediocre or worse songs. see: "paris", "circuit", "now til 69", "fool for love". hell, almost all of the songs that got remixed by them are mediocre!

But that's the thing - they take mediocre, boring songs and make them AMAZING.

I don't think I'd want to hear them tackle a song that was already good.
