Teenage Cremation

President Keyes, Wednesday, 5 September 2018 16:06 (seven years ago)

LOL @ this album. Comedy folk singer? I would have said Australian but the label says Made In England.

Scottish Country Twerking (Tom D.), Wednesday, 5 September 2018 16:07 (seven years ago)

Oh, yeah, looks like the song I posted was written by Peter but sung by someone else.

"Killing Me Softly With His Song"
Peter Afendoulis

I know that song was written for Don McLean, but it should have been written for Harry Chapin. I was "introduced" to Harry’s music when I was a wannabe Folk Singer in the late Seventies. I was having a bit of success, having written a few songs that proved to be popular, but I was always looking for new songs to sing. A friend loaned me a copy of "Greatest Stories Live" and that was it! He was telling me my life story - and it changed my whole outlook on life.

Because I was traveling around a lot and in the wrong place at the wrong time, I never got to see him live until Newcastle City Hall (The last (mainland UK gig) on his 1980 Tour. He and the Band did 45 minute first set, after which Harry spent another 45 minutes in the Foyer signing programmes (He signed mine!), T-shirts, albums and stuff, and then a 90 minute second spot (of which Harry did about 30 minutes solo).

From '81 but sneaks in... Bob Kerr's Whoopee Band, "Things That Go Bump In The Mike".

From 1993, but anyone who titles their album "Above and Beyond the Doll of Cutey" deserves to be immortalized.

Prescient Bethlehem Records comp from 1959: "We Cut This Album For Bread"

Scam jam, thank you ma’am (Sparkle Motion), Monday, 24 September 2018 15:06 (seven years ago)

That’s fantastic all around

growing up in publix (morrisp), Monday, 24 September 2018 15:10 (seven years ago)

bummed it's not an album of Bread covers but not that bummed

|Restore| |Restart| |Quit| (Doctor Casino), Monday, 24 September 2018 15:12 (seven years ago)

that one is p confusing because the picture actually depicts bread being cut for this album

Fedora Dostoyevsky (man alive), Monday, 24 September 2018 18:26 (seven years ago)

interesting that the jargon "cut an album" was known enough in 1959 to make a funny.

saddest kamancheh (bendy), Monday, 24 September 2018 21:36 (seven years ago)

I thought the same thing about the term "bread"

growing up in publix (morrisp), Monday, 24 September 2018 21:51 (seven years ago)

everything about that cover could pass for being from decades later than it actually was

Lee626, Monday, 24 September 2018 22:45 (seven years ago)

Yeah, it totally could have been a WB Loss Leader in the '70s.

Ubering With The King (C. Grisso/McCain), Monday, 24 September 2018 22:57 (seven years ago)

two weeks pass...

Accidental Manson vibe there

The Desus & Mero Chain (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 9 October 2018 12:20 (seven years ago)

Nice to see a Photoshop jigsaw plugin used for something other than trade magazine ads for CRM software.

saddest kamancheh (bendy), Tuesday, 9 October 2018 12:22 (seven years ago)

I've just notice that the title is misspelled and I don't know if that's on purpose

canary christ (stevie), Tuesday, 9 October 2018 13:00 (seven years ago)

such a cheap jigsaw plugin - same few pieces over and over. get it togehter!

|Restore| |Restart| |Quit| (Doctor Casino), Tuesday, 9 October 2018 13:36 (seven years ago)

it's a shame that isaac hayes stole his idea back in 1970 or whenever

Herb Achelors (NickB), Tuesday, 9 October 2018 14:00 (seven years ago)

Chris Butler is a wiseacre, I'm sure he knows "togehter" is misspelled.

Freddy "Boom Boom" QAnon (Dan Peterson), Tuesday, 9 October 2018 14:12 (seven years ago)

I wish he'd get it together and stop showing off!

jmm, Tuesday, 9 October 2018 16:45 (seven years ago)

you'd think that puzzle would be easier for him to do, what with there only being two types of pieces

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 9 October 2018 16:50 (seven years ago)

93 but this is one of the worst album covers I've seen in a minute

The Desus & Mero Chain (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 9 October 2018 16:59 (seven years ago)

holy wow, that's foul

omar little, Tuesday, 9 October 2018 17:02 (seven years ago)

i'm trying to imagine the concept by an actual legit heavy metal album cover artist as opposed to...that.

the tattoo should read "taxes" and the balance beam should read "innocent americans" and Stan Kelly should be sniping away in the corner.

omar little, Tuesday, 9 October 2018 17:04 (seven years ago)

I have been subbing entries in a finance magazine for eleven hours today but that sleeve discovered new levels of pain for my eyes

canary christ (stevie), Tuesday, 9 October 2018 17:48 (seven years ago)

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/43/Be_a_Brother.jpg

"Be a brother man, hook me up." Yeah, between the title and the cover, there was obviously some drugs being used.

earlnash, Monday, 15 October 2018 01:33 (seven years ago)

love the art tho
