If the second half were as good as the first I would agree, but I do think it falls off a teensy bit. Still great but I think Cody and Hungover are still tops for me

god I would love to hear the Joyce Manor discards/alternates vault (all like 30 minutes of it or whatever). iirc they recorded a long Smiths medley for Of All Things I Will Soon Grow Tired but I can't back that up at the moment

Was anyone else there tonight in Islington? A real shame to see they have done 20+ songs and 2 encores everywhere else and tonight they complained Barry has had voice issues and it was just about an hour long. (Were dope for the hour tho)

haha, finally felt compelled to check this band out, ^that was not at all what I expected to hear first. a nice shock though, and if you're gonna cover a perfect song might as well put it up front.

i did a discog run this week and i definitely overrated million dollars to kill me when it came out but it's a way better record than their fans think and "big lie" is still the best song ever

bit of a dexter freebish vibe on 'well, whatever it was'

really digging the rockabilly by way of X and Morrissey thing that a few tracks have. i was initially put off by the re-recording of the track from their demo days, but fuck it, i dig the drums and it flows well with the album. new songs are great live too, seamless fit with the old stuff.

Every new album of theirs is welcome news but also tempered with the feeling of "here's another album that won't be as good as Never Hungover Again"...that said, this one does play really well and is an improvement on the one prior. I do think it is weird for a punk band to not have a consistent drummer, but it's not a dealbreaker.

is never hungover again even their best album though? hungover, cody, s/t are basically masterpieces where every song is perfect. i don’t think the new one is on that level but it has great songs, i like the direction they’re going

i think cody is their best. i also think million dollars to kill me is ridiculously underrated

20 minutes is kind of the ideal length for a pop punk album.
