Some of this is really nuravey/super distorted and less the smoother two tracks mentioned above, but some of the best of nurave IMO.search:Chrome Knight (feat. Chromeo), basically white knights two with some great chromeo vocalsRadio Fireworks (Surkin 909 Edit)Radio Fireworks (Riot In Belgium Second Remix)Para One - Midnight Swim (Surkin Drowning Mix)DJ Mehdi - Lucky Boy (Surkin Remix)Boys Noize - Don't Believe The Hype (Surkin Mix No. 1)Teki Latex - Les Matins De Paris (Surkin Remix)
i wouldn't destroy much of his but it doesn't stand out the way this stuff does
― space cowboy (san frandisco), Friday, 29 May 2009 19:33 (seventeen years ago)

― Shannon Whirry & the Bad Brains, Tuesday, 9 June 2009 22:35 (seventeen years ago)
ilxor Altair Noveau has a 12" coming out soon (today?) on dfa that's pretty nice.

― the ring toun (electricsound), Tuesday, 9 June 2009 23:49 (seventeen years ago)

― psychgawsple, Wednesday, 10 June 2009 05:13 (seventeen years ago)
so excited about free energy album
― i've seen the way you've treated other fuxxors you've been with (Tape Store), Wednesday, 10 June 2009 05:16 (seventeen years ago)
urgh... based on the tracks on free energy's myspace they sound pretty damn insufferable dude. i was beginning to think dfa was becoming reliable or something.
BLACK METEORIC STAR, on the other hand, makes me want to forget all about it
― psychgawsple, Wednesday, 10 June 2009 05:30 (seventeen years ago)
i dig the free energy songs but they're the most un-dfa tracks i could imagine short of twee pop
― by my elbow a dirty wettex and a wine glass in my hand (electricsound), Wednesday, 10 June 2009 05:36 (seventeen years ago)
free energy is so corny -- lyrics are so generic
― autogucci cru (deej), Wednesday, 10 June 2009 06:02 (seventeen years ago)
ye whatever genre they're in they do not represent very well
i'm kind of a big twee pop fan, fwiw
― psychgawsple, Wednesday, 10 June 2009 06:05 (seventeen years ago)
DFA's webshop has the three black meteoric star 12"s available as a bundle with free posters, i see. are the full-length versions of the trax going to be available as digi-downloads or is this going to be a basic channel-type scenario?
― juniper jazz (haitch), Wednesday, 10 June 2009 06:11 (seventeen years ago)
welp the first one is avail as download so i would hope the other two will as well
― by my elbow a dirty wettex and a wine glass in my hand (electricsound), Wednesday, 10 June 2009 06:16 (seventeen years ago)
why is buying the bundle of 3 bms singles more expensive than buying 3 individual singles?shit is awesome, anyway.
― mizzell, Wednesday, 10 June 2009 18:07 (seventeen years ago)
so great that all the new 12"s are only $8- is this actually a new thing or do i just have a terrible memory?
really into that walter jones. also looking forward to altair's stuff!
― psychgawsple, Friday, 12 June 2009 07:22 (seventeen years ago)

― (jaxon) ( .) ( .) (jaxon), Friday, 12 June 2009 22:29 (seventeen years ago)
still hard to belive that's him and not a woman singing
― (jaxon) ( .) ( .) (jaxon), Friday, 12 June 2009 22:30 (seventeen years ago)
ok, nm. think he's singing on 'i'll keep on loving you' and there's a girl singing on 'living w/o your love'
― (jaxon) ( .) ( .) (jaxon), Friday, 12 June 2009 22:55 (seventeen years ago)
new justin miller mix up on warm blog has a super-tight edit of rose royce's 'Every Way But Loose'. tip!
― eduardo altamonte (jergins), Friday, 12 June 2009 22:58 (seventeen years ago)
Walter Jones 12" is ridiculously good. when DFA get it right, they get it right.
― pipecock, Saturday, 13 June 2009 04:13 (seventeen years ago)
just came back from hearing justin and jacques (and lovefingers) dj at what used to be a sex club while dancing on the bottom of what used to be a small pool. I left early because I'm old, but it was pretty cool, even though I thought the false floor on the bottom of the pool above the lights seemed like it might let me fall through at any moment.
― dan selzer, Saturday, 13 June 2009 06:40 (seventeen years ago)

"Walter Jones 12" is ridiculously good. when DFA get it right, they get it right."
YES. interesting to see who ends up remixing this too
― Malcolm Money, Sunday, 14 June 2009 14:04 (seventeen years ago)
xpost-why is buying the bundle of 3 bms singles more expensive than buying 3 individual singles?
It looks like the 12"s don't come with the posters unless you buy as a bundle, and if you buy them together you get them all at once instead of on their release dates. LOVING this album, especially "World Eater."
― Telephone thing, Monday, 15 June 2009 05:10 (seventeen years ago)
Absolutely loving that Justin Miller DFA mix posted upthread.

― W i l l, Friday, 19 June 2009 15:48 (seventeen years ago)
Yeah what exactly is the status of the Six Finger Satellite reissues? Did I miss them or is this project still bubbling away in the DFA lab? I mean I have the originals... but the kids don't.
― Nate Carson, Friday, 19 June 2009 18:35 (seventeen years ago)

If I don't find out the name of the song being played at 56:00 - 58:40 of that Justin Miller DFA mix, then I will be totally depressed forever. HELP!
― Mr. Snrub, Wednesday, 24 June 2009 03:42 (sixteen years ago)

it's between but is not either the plez nor shit robot (of course that's assuming the t/l is in order) so i'm still in the dark
― task force vs the brisbane punks (electricsound), Wednesday, 24 June 2009 04:07 (sixteen years ago)
Found it! It is called "Simple Things (Work It Out) (Serge Santiago Remix)" by Shit Robot and it will be released on July 14th. Awesome!
― Mr. Snrub, Wednesday, 24 June 2009 05:27 (sixteen years ago)
ugh so is there any reason that dfa is re-releasing this woolfy album from two years ago with 2 fewer original tracks (replaced by remixes)? are these remixes worth it, did they re-record things or what?
if not, laaame. the album never did much for me the first time around, not sure it deserves another airing
― psychgawsple, Wednesday, 24 June 2009 21:27 (sixteen years ago)
Really, really feeling the Black Meteoric Star. Way more than expected (although I'm not sure why, I really liked the D and G album). Especially love "Death Tunnel", "Dominatron", "Dreamcatcher", and "Anthem".
― matt2, Thursday, 25 June 2009 17:48 (sixteen years ago)
new Holy Ghost! single "I Will Come Back" is great, possibly better than "Hold On"
― Malcolm Money, Sunday, 28 June 2009 16:02 (sixteen years ago)
