sic & i went to see The Revenge last weekend and one of his sets from that night is up here: http://www.pulseradio.net/studio/Co-Op#studio/Co-Op
i got there too late to hear most of it but it sounds pretty great!

noted that night: someone dubbing themself The Revenge should probably look big and intimidating, not like a kid bunking off his fourth-form revision:

(after handing over to Motorcitysoul he went and played another hour and a half in the front room, hope both's other sets get posted too)

I can't get enough of this stuff
― Malcolm Money, Friday, 19 June 2009 19:14 (sixteen years ago)
me neither, Revenge's Regulate edit is THE SHIT.
― mikebee (BATTAGS), Friday, 19 June 2009 19:16 (sixteen years ago)
The Revenge's BiS mix absolutely kills.
― davek_00, Sunday, 21 June 2009 15:35 (sixteen years ago)
The Revenge is playing some 'upmarket' bar round my way in like a month. This is pretty cool but no-one will care
― YOULL BE BAND FROM THE WEB FOR BEING OLD BITCHES!!!! (DJ Mencap), Thursday, 25 June 2009 15:25 (sixteen years ago)
Regulate Edit left me wanting more or different or something. It just isn't nearly as good as the original version that includes the Michael McDonald chorus.
― brotherlovesdub, Thursday, 25 June 2009 18:34 (sixteen years ago)
oh man, it's killing me this week, on nonstop repeat. :)
― mikebee (BATTAGS), Thursday, 25 June 2009 18:42 (sixteen years ago)

― NI, Thursday, 25 June 2009 19:45 (sixteen years ago)
Pretty sure it's linked upthread.

i really wanted to hate the Regulate edit, but it was actually pretty decent. i am, however, stuggling to figure out why someone thought that "Lost In Music" needed a filter house mix. MAKE IT STOP.
― pipecock, Saturday, 27 June 2009 23:42 (sixteen years ago)
Do It To The Max is hypnotizing
― Malcolm Money, Sunday, 28 June 2009 15:59 (sixteen years ago)
the Atlantic Conveyor EP on Untracked is absolutely phenomenal. i'll be posting it to discohorror later today and will hit you guys back with a link
― space cowboy (san frandisco), Thursday, 2 July 2009 16:44 (sixteen years ago)
Great thread. R&B Drunkie has been my favorite track to play for almost a year now. Sounds way too good every time
― sovietpanda, Thursday, 2 July 2009 18:54 (sixteen years ago)
the new Instruments of Rapture by the OOFT boys is another winner! not *quite* as good as "Just a Memory" for me (which Herb Alpert tune is that, btw?) but i'm feeling it. out soon...
― mikebee (BATTAGS), Friday, 3 July 2009 06:46 (sixteen years ago)
R&B Drunkie is awesome. I emailed the record label to see if they were repressing the other week, but they haven't replied so I guess not.
― Chewshabadoo, Friday, 3 July 2009 08:23 (sixteen years ago)
kinda prefer the og janet track

I agree! I haven't really heard anything by The Revenge that lived up to Night Flight, which is absolutely amazing.
― Jamie T Smith, Friday, 3 July 2009 08:51 (sixteen years ago)
man i found a white label much-faster rmx of 'love light in flight' about 2 yrs ago that i kinda prefer
what abt the revenge 'cadillac' track?? banger
― zzz (deej), Friday, 3 July 2009 08:53 (sixteen years ago)

I was introducing you as it seemed to me you couldn't have encountered him before if you needed to ask a question like that.

"kinda prefer the og janet track
― zzz (deej)"
i like both, i keep the Janet 12" next to R&B Drunkie in the box. i have been playing the Janet much more often recently.
"why?
― dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr)"
i mean, that concept doesn't sound horribly ironic to you? it does to me. they pulled it off nicely tho, without sounding like a joke.
i didn't realise that they were behind that Cadillac joint. that's another one i don't care much for. there are so many better Hot Chocolate jams!

― surge gainsbourg protector (haitch), Sunday, 4 October 2009 01:43 (sixteen years ago)
wish i'd actually bought 'a collage education' for excellent rework of 'love can't turn around'.
love 'back 2 back' and ruf dog 'dirty' 12"s (which i did get).
― surge gainsbourg protector (haitch), Sunday, 4 October 2009 01:49 (sixteen years ago)
dirty is so insane!
― moonship journey to baja, Sunday, 4 October 2009 01:50 (sixteen years ago)

― surge gainsbourg protector (haitch), Sunday, 4 October 2009 01:52 (sixteen years ago)

itt: kinda out there, maybe kinda experimental, maybe kinda pretentious modern r&b
― jaxon, Sunday, 4 October 2009 17:28 (sixteen years ago)
mark e just released tons of stuff. i dig the freakin shriekin 12", and the one on endless flight (codsall juniors?) is growing on me
all instruments of rapture stuff from this year is also v good, tho the revenge seems to be falling off a bit with most of his other releases and remixes
also the don froth 12" from early this year is still doing it for me tho. and don't forget about the linkwood album!!!
― psychgawsple, Sunday, 4 October 2009 20:19 (sixteen years ago)
