Where is the LOVE for Perfume?

I like it a lot, probably more than their last album. So far, anyway. New songs have a throwback quality, very cute. And the singles pop in this context.

I've seen complaints that the singles appear on the album exactly as they were initially released, not in new album mixes.

I have some thoughts about Future Pop.

The album mixes have been downgrades lately so I'm happy they stay the way they were. I listen to Perfume mostly through albums and I want the 'real' deal.

do they have a comp with the singles mixes? don't exactly want to track down 20 separate singles

it was only on Level3 and Cosmic Explorer where there were mostly new mixes for the previously released singles, Triangle and JPN just had one or two new mixes of previously-released B-sides on them too.

there's no compilation of all the single version of tracks but there's not that many and the singles are all easily available on streaming services, it's not very hard to track them down.

Update: Le Me Know is a classic, A+ Perfume single, and with this great new Future Pop MV I'm ready to declare this year a Golden Age Perfume Year.

"let me know" is such an awesome song, can't believe nakata is still surprising me like this

That video is amazing. "If You Wanna," "Fusion," "Tenku," and "Everyday" are still my favorite tracks on the album.

new album not kicking in for me, even the singles - something went missing in the latest replica, though my outlook has shifted as well the last two years and it's probably just me having a harder time enjoying almost anything

that shot of the three of them dancing, surrounded both on land and air by circling shopping carts & delivery drones is really something though

pop content never to be mistaken for mere entertainment etc

not really sold on the album at all, it's fine i guess but not at all thrilling like they used to be, and Cosmic Explorer at least had "Relax in the City" which was really sublime if not 'exciting'. nowhere near as bad as nakata's solo work at least

I've tried telling trad prog-rock guys they should listen to Polyrhythm because it has polyrhythms in it (sort of). They weren't buying it, sadly.

I wanted to tie in seeing one of their arena shows with a forthcoming Japanese trip but it didn't happen, not least because the tickets are about £150.

new album isn't really clicking for me but that's alright. I feel like the run up to and including JPN is more than most will ever accomplish and the rest is enjoyable enough. I like 超来輪 on this one.

Having a hard time getting into Future Pop. I like Tenku, but that’s pretty much it. Everything else feels very...um...”early-2010s” EDM?

I prefer the techno-disco of everything through Level3, which in retrospect is a pretty consistently bangin’ album.
