love how Infatuation takes the vocals from Is It Cold in the Water and backwards masks them into infinity - beautiful pair of songs, the latter builds and never really takes off and the former drops in beats but still feels like it never really drops - a master class in ratcheting up tension

Her show tonight in Vancouver was awesome (albeit way too short). She was playing this ambient track, then all of a sudden it turned into Ponyboy and the crowd just lost their shit over it. An audience member in a unicorn costume came out of nowhere too, which i figured was pretty fitting for the track

doesn't seem like the oil remix album has been mentioned so. more like a techno mix + ambient stretch, mb worth checking out even if (like me) you weren't hot on the original album

It's not what I expected. Autechre have actually made the record sound less strange and maybe more commercial. No shade to the orginal or this (both are excellent) but I don't think I've ever heard AE approach a remix like this.

I like it--already loved the Soh-G, and this one with a de-FXed vocal and slower tempo makes me think even more of '80s Sleeping Bag/Latin Rascals freestyle à la Joyce Sims/Nocera, which is def part of the prAemordial soup

Very sad news regarding the passing of SOPHIE. I had the opportunity to work with her and the PC music family some years back, in awe of the imagination and rulelessness approach to creating music which is so often full of restraints. She and her creativity will be hugely missed

I remember when PC Music came on with Beautiful and Like You and I was excited by this new spin to club pop music. That stopped there, I never got into Sophie, and now it's quite strange to think that the few years since then was her career.

I wasn't intimately familiar with her work, but "Faceshopping" (song/video) was one of the most provocative things I'd encountered in pop in a long time. Seems like an important artist, terribly young to go.
