That’s the sort of post that would ordinarily seem destined to echo out into the void without response but luckily I, also, am a Nirvanna The Band The Show fan.
Has there been any progress on s2 reaching non-Canadian audiences via legal channels? Why was there a separate Canadian version of Viceland in the first place?

Also, while I’m here, to maybe try my own hand at a sales pitch: it’s about a two-man band in Toronto who live together and don’t seem to rehearse much, but go to extreme lengths every episode to book a gig at real-life venue The Rivoli (trying seemingly everything, except, for some reason, just calling up the place to do it the normal way). The piano player obviously has 99% of the talent in the group but the vocalist is the ringleader with all the harebrained schemes.
Like Ross said it’s mostly shot in real places with real people, apart from scenes back at their house where they come up with the plots. It’s remarkably airtight considering that - they have a knack for getting exactly what they need out of non-actors, and in a way that keeps much of the potential discomfort firmly on themselves. Along with the show’s emphasis on making Toronto feel like Toronto, the impression they create is that two people in this perfectly ordinary city are living a hilarious sitcom life, and we just happen to have cameras trained on them while they fail to gel with their surroundings. It’s really a delight, and probably the reason I keep forgetting that Vice doesn’t actually do all that much else that I like.

When was there an issue? It has aired in Australia and is all available for legal streaming

Hmm. For the longest time it wasn’t available in America, at least. But you’re right, it seems to be on iTunes now.
Anyway I would strongly encourage even the Vice-averse to give it a shot.

If the goal is to increase visibility and acceptance of non-binary ppl, why would they otherize them by demanding “Please credit The Gender Spectrum Collection in your captions” as opposed to just crediting Vice.

Where I'm puzzled re: the Vice project is that the Getty photos I looked at all seem to encompass the same range of experience as the Vice photos with the added benefit of most of them not looking like glossy staged model shots. It feels like they are trying to fill a niche that's already been filled and calling themselves trailblazers. (Obv that position comes with a grain of salt because my default position re: Vice is "fuck them, everything they do has a shitty ulterior motive")
