some other Yoko stuff got pushed out of the top 100 so Mind Train (my no. 2 all time Yoko song) getting in instead is at least some compensation

Le Baton Rose (Turrican), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:39 (eight years ago)

also fuck yeah uncle albert just on the edge of the top 20

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:39 (eight years ago)

and looks like 'Mother' got locked out of the Top 10!

Le Baton Rose (Turrican), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:39 (eight years ago)

i'm also glad a third ringo song made it in

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:40 (eight years ago)

morning wood truancy (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:41 (eight years ago)

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:42 (eight years ago)

This song is great and all, but I really have no idea what he means in the first line, even if he does sing it twice.

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:43 (eight years ago)

sorry, didn't listen to press to play cause of the album cover.

808s & Deep States (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:43 (eight years ago)

the first time "by which" ever used in a pop song?

morning wood truancy (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:43 (eight years ago)

whoa i guess "band on the run" is higher?

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:43 (eight years ago)

87. Listen, the Snow Is Falling - Yoko Ono (feat. John) (485 points, 6 votes)

also i am so so so happy this song made it

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:44 (eight years ago)

“God” is the good version of “Imagine”

droit au butt (Euler), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:44 (eight years ago)

82. When We Was Fab - George Harrison (feat. George) (541 points, 11 votes)

Ringo's the drummer on this.

48. Mind Train - Yoko Ono (feat. John, Ringo) (874 points, 12 votes)

That's Jim Keltner, not Ringo.
(and for some reason, I didn't realize John was on it, or else it absolutely would've made my ballot)

Montgomery Burns' Jazz (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:44 (eight years ago)

thx for the corrections

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:45 (eight years ago)

coming up like a FLOWER

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:46 (eight years ago)

Would be interested to know how many votes were really for covers. I voted for “Listen the Snow Is Falling” as much for the Galaxie 500 version as for Yoko’s, and for “Photograph” for Camper Van Beethoven

droit au butt (Euler), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:46 (eight years ago)

808s & Deep States (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:47 (eight years ago)

only thing i'll say about "botr" is i like it but i'm glad "jet" beat it. i feel like it has one section too many, but also that's ok

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:48 (eight years ago)

thx for the corrections

You're welcome -- and I had to double-check, because Keltner and Ringo sound so goddamn similar (see also: "I Won't Back Down" -- sounds so much like Ringo, they put him in the video!)

There were rumors that Ringo's better playing days were behind him when the Threetles tracks were coming together, and that it's actually Keltner on those.

Montgomery Burns' Jazz (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:48 (eight years ago)

see also: "I Won't Back Down" -- sounds so much like Ringo, they put him in the video

lol yeah shit like this only made it even harder for me to keep credits straight!

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:50 (eight years ago)

speaking of Ringo

one of those things where no one really had it super-high on their ballots, but almost everyone included it somewhere. Consensus!

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:51 (eight years ago)

great song, love when ringo and george work together

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:52 (eight years ago)

808s & Deep States (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:52 (eight years ago)

Making Plans For Sturgill (C. Grisso/McCain), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:53 (eight years ago)

Glad to see this here - his best song!

Le Baton Rose (Turrican), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:53 (eight years ago)

also ringo got two songs in the top twenty!

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:53 (eight years ago)

TOO HIGH.

Le Baton Rose (Turrican), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:54 (eight years ago)

i'll probably never get tired of the slide guitar in "my sweet lord." that'll always sound like the best thing in the world to me

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:54 (eight years ago)

It's a great performance - I've no problems at all with the playing or the song, but I've always felt there was much better than this on All Things Must Pass.

Le Baton Rose (Turrican), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:56 (eight years ago)

the amount of love for this one surprised me

6. Oh Yoko! - John Lennon (feat. John) (1872 points, 23 votes)

Like, 'What Is Life' was the B-side and it feels like more of an A-side than the A-side

(x-post)

Le Baton Rose (Turrican), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:57 (eight years ago)

the prettiest melody of john's career. my #2

808s & Deep States (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 20:57 (eight years ago)
