it's great

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 16:54 (eight years ago)

i voted for it in the lower reaches of my ballot. better than "the girl is mine"!

808s & Deep States (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 16:55 (eight years ago)

yeah both mj collabs on pipes of peace are superior to "the girl is mine" which... isn't saying a lot, but

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 5 June 2018 16:57 (eight years ago)

voted for "say say say" for mj's delivery of "what can i do, girl to get through to you / 'cause i love you! / baby!" alone

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 16:58 (eight years ago)

I do a superb Paul when I karaoke "Say Say Say."

morning wood truancy (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 16:58 (eight years ago)

heh - I voted for it for the horns, the vocodered "say say say," and Paul's "yooooouuu never, ever worry..."

morning wood truancy (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 16:58 (eight years ago)

"gimme some truth": great song, great side opener

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 16:58 (eight years ago)

Paul's "yooooouuu never, ever worry..."

love this part too

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 16:59 (eight years ago)

my favorite paul collab that has no chance of making it is "get it," with carl perkins, from tug of war. perkins has such a great voice, and it sounds weirdly incredible against the '80s production. rediscovering that song kinda made me want to look up if perkins did any worthwhile solo work in the 80s.

808s & Deep States (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 16:59 (eight years ago)

I appreciate too how George Martin mimicked a Q joint production.

xpost

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:14 (eight years ago)

my number one, since I knew all you Macca philistines wouldn't even vote for it at all

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:15 (eight years ago)

i definitely didn't but it's not bc i'm a macca philistine

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:15 (eight years ago)

you may say i'm a dreamer, but that song is not my number one

808s & Deep States (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:18 (eight years ago)

isolation was in my top ten, tho

808s & Deep States (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:18 (eight years ago)

"isolation" is so fuckin good

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:18 (eight years ago)

that piano figure is one of the ones i absent-mindedly gravitate to whenever i can't think of something to play

808s & Deep States (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:19 (eight years ago)

my highest vote from jl/pob

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:19 (eight years ago)

beautifully spare playing on ringo's part

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:20 (eight years ago)

wondered which was going to win in ts: "every night" vs. "junk"

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:20 (eight years ago)

"uncle albert" too low" but i guess i don't have to hear alfred talk about it like it's a bad song

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:21 (eight years ago)

HANDS

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:22 (eight years ago)

even as a confirmed McCartney hater I could not deny that track

sleeve, Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:22 (eight years ago)

Imagine « Imagine » getting 101d
It’s easy if you try

droit au butt (Euler), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:22 (eight years ago)

a great tie coming up

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:28 (eight years ago)

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:29 (eight years ago)

"cold turkey" is a song i don't love but i respect what it's doing

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:30 (eight years ago)

liking the 20's so far

sleeve, Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:31 (eight years ago)

"Why" was my #1. Glad to see it beat out "Uncle Albert."

Montgomery Burns' Jazz (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:31 (eight years ago)

from here on out people may quibble about placements, but I don't think anyone's really going to argue about the overall remarkably high quality of the songs

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:33 (eight years ago)

can't believe Imagine placed so low. I think my #3. of all the POB songs, Love too low - it is one of his most beautiful songs.

Isolation obv also amazing. Trailer for the new Gus Van Sant movie uses Isolation throughout, nice surprise & sounded great blasting in a big theater.

happy that Junk will place higher than I expected.

flappy bird, Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:34 (eight years ago)

so psyched for the top 25

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:37 (eight years ago)

I don't think this should surprise anybody but Lennon's POB and Harrisone's ATMP were the only albums in this poll for which every track received votes.

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:37 (eight years ago)

i'm a little surprised ppl voted for "my mummy's dead" but more power to 'em

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:39 (eight years ago)

we got some fans of the apple jam too, apparently

808s & Deep States (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:39 (eight years ago)

Ram came close except apparently nobody could bring themselves to vote for "3 Legs" or "Ram On (reprise)"

I take this as solid evidence that McCartney never recorded a front-to-back great album.

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:40 (eight years ago)

xp hey there were 100 spots, I threw in the Two Virgins tracks at the end there. plenty of room for frivolous "what the hell" votes

sleeve, Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:40 (eight years ago)

man "3 legs" is good just not top 100 good

flamenco blorf (BradNelson), Tuesday, 5 June 2018 17:41 (eight years ago)
