flamenco drop (BradNelson), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 15:32 (eight years ago)

Mutual Core is brilliant anyway, but the video really makes it

mfktz (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 15:35 (eight years ago)

xp yeah the images are fabulous

sleeve, Tuesday, 8 May 2018 15:38 (eight years ago)

lol voodoo chili gets it, that bumped it up a few places on my ballot

sciatica, Tuesday, 8 May 2018 15:45 (eight years ago)

It's weird, I've listened to the 'Non Toilet Mix' of TMTLTT (one of the Venus as a Boy b-sides) and it sounds totally wrong without that section of the song

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 15:53 (eight years ago)

Generous Palmstroke was the only b-side on my ballot in the end, what a song though.

Gavin, Leeds, Tuesday, 8 May 2018 15:54 (eight years ago)

god i love amphibian, so beautiful and sad

808s & Deep States (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 15:58 (eight years ago)

wait, what

i don't think i've ever heard amphibian

obviously DLC (Karl Malone), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 15:58 (eight years ago)

never heard it either

morning wood truancy (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 15:59 (eight years ago)

it plays during the closing credits of Being John Malkovich

808s & Deep States (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 16:00 (eight years ago)

it was also released on the Cocoon single

ufo, Tuesday, 8 May 2018 16:00 (eight years ago)

it’s also one of the best björk songs

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 16:02 (eight years ago)

well yeah

808s & Deep States (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 16:04 (eight years ago)

it fits really nicely as a Cocoon b-side, they're both so delicate and warm

808s & Deep States (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 16:05 (eight years ago)

I'm a fan of both versions of "Amphibian," which I can't really say the same for in the case of "All is Full of Love."

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 16:17 (eight years ago)

dumb q since i could google it, but does Bjork have a comprehensive b-sides compilation?

omar little, Tuesday, 8 May 2018 16:18 (eight years ago)

no and she really needs one

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 16:54 (eight years ago)

my first and def not my last “too low”

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 16:55 (eight years ago)

my first, too, although I almost ended up voting for Quicksand and An Echo, A Stain

each image is a work of art!

Dan S, Tuesday, 8 May 2018 16:59 (eight years ago)

eric can i hire you to do images for the kylie poll

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 17:01 (eight years ago)

"Virus" and "An Echo, A Stain" were both in my top 10.

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 17:02 (eight years ago)

xp turns out I did vote for Quicksand

Dan S, Tuesday, 8 May 2018 17:02 (eight years ago)

xps I feel like I'm biffing it pretty hard on these image tiles tbh

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 17:02 (eight years ago)

These are not the Biophilia tracks I voted for

nevertheless, he stopped (flamboyant goon tie included), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 17:30 (eight years ago)

I did put An Echo, A Stain at #7 tho, my second-highest ranked Vespertine track :) amazing song

nevertheless, he stopped (flamboyant goon tie included), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 17:31 (eight years ago)

I can see how one could be very much not a fan of "Virus," but it gives me exactly what I need at that point in the album.

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 17:50 (eight years ago)

xp Virus does kind of bring Biophilia back to earth after the cosmic/atomic journeys of Dark Matter and Hollow

Dan S, Tuesday, 8 May 2018 17:57 (eight years ago)

Generally I cringe when I hear poems set to music but Bjork singing e.e. cummings is an exception.

ˈʌglɪɪst preɪ, Tuesday, 8 May 2018 18:06 (eight years ago)

YES!

lbi's life of limitless european glamour (Le Bateau Ivre), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 18:13 (eight years ago)

Sun in my mouth is haunting, the vocal line creates everything and she's so in command, she really creates that impression of bursting to life.

Nabozo, Tuesday, 8 May 2018 18:19 (eight years ago)

I can't say as much, I'm an Ulver fan :P

Nabozo, Tuesday, 8 May 2018 18:21 (eight years ago)

her vocal on this is a masterpiece of control

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 18:23 (eight years ago)

re: Sun in My Mouth......and it's such a beautiful complex vocal line..

Dan S, Tuesday, 8 May 2018 18:25 (eight years ago)

As lovely a song as I can imagine with the word "MP3s" in its lyrics, re: "Blissing"

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 18:28 (eight years ago)

I didn't vote for any Utopia tracks in the end. Blissing Me was the one I considered going for.

kitchen person, Tuesday, 8 May 2018 18:36 (eight years ago)

Wow I completely forgot about Amphibian. Would have made my ballot.

octobeard, Tuesday, 8 May 2018 18:52 (eight years ago)

I voted Sun In My Mouth and Heirloom back to back because I love how she adapts cumming’s imagery in her own subsequent lyric and the transition between the two is one of the most sob-rising-in-your-throat moments on Vespertine, for me.

I really don't care much for this one, voted for another from Selmasongs, but don't expect it to place

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 20:16 (eight years ago)

#49?!?

morning wood truancy (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 20:30 (eight years ago)

I love "I've Seen It All" full stop, but prefer the Thom Yorke version over the Peter Stormare film version. Their voices just sound so goddamn beautiful together.

!Alicia!, Tuesday, 8 May 2018 20:31 (eight years ago)

There's a sizeable bloc among Bjork fandom that just has no time for "Violently Happy," misguidedly.

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Tuesday, 8 May 2018 20:35 (eight years ago)

I love 95% of Bjork, but also don't care for Violently Happy, sorry, please don't fp me, just find it a bit bland and don't like the bit about ecstatic music
