Pagan Poetry was my number 1, just astonishing as a performance and as a piece of visual art

I mean, not for nothing was it projected four-stories-tall at MOMA.

love the dgaf style of acting/dancing on the truck with people agape in the streets, released as the video to her first single!

Dan S, Monday, 7 May 2018 19:04 (eight years ago)

This video is so near and dear to my heart and fills me w such joy

Honestly, I can only think of one Bjork video that does nothing in the slightest for me and that's "Play Dead," obvs.

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Monday, 7 May 2018 19:30 (eight years ago)

xp the extreme wide angle (fish eye?) filming lens in Big Time Sensuality really contributes to feeling of joyful exhibitionism, too

Dan S, Monday, 7 May 2018 19:32 (eight years ago)

big time sensuality video is iconic come on

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Monday, 7 May 2018 19:36 (eight years ago)

thrilled the underworld mix won

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Monday, 7 May 2018 19:37 (eight years ago)

I had never seen "Army of Me" before last night and was blown away, it def would have been in my top 3 if I'd voted

the masseduction of lauryn hill (Stevie D(eux)), Monday, 7 May 2018 19:41 (eight years ago)

it’s such a powerful and bizarre video

“hyberballad” is a visual perfectly suited toward its song, my favorite thing is the way the camera sways in time to the low bass riff and also hologram björk and also 8-bit avatar björk

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Monday, 7 May 2018 20:05 (eight years ago)

it also makes me cry for some reason

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Monday, 7 May 2018 20:05 (eight years ago)

never felt any kind of way about this video even though the bell dress rules

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Monday, 7 May 2018 20:21 (eight years ago)

the only Bjork videos I have a hard time watching are Hidden Place and Vertebrae by Vertebrae, both are disturbing to me

Dan S, Monday, 7 May 2018 20:21 (eight years ago)

(although beautiful at the same time)

Dan S, Monday, 7 May 2018 20:22 (eight years ago)

“where is the line” has a deeply fucked up video

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Monday, 7 May 2018 20:24 (eight years ago)

oh, never saw that one!

Dan S, Monday, 7 May 2018 20:25 (eight years ago)

idk you may want to keep it that way

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Monday, 7 May 2018 20:26 (eight years ago)

“mouth mantra” video also basically unwatchable for me

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Monday, 7 May 2018 20:26 (eight years ago)

the Human Behavior video filled my kid with such delight, and me once again, seeing it for the first time in twenty years.

omar little, Monday, 7 May 2018 20:30 (eight years ago)

"Vertebrae by Vertebrae" doesn't have an official video, does it?

ˈʌglɪɪst preɪ, Monday, 7 May 2018 20:31 (eight years ago)

No, that and "Virus" are taken from a video art installation piece.

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Monday, 7 May 2018 20:32 (eight years ago)

Oh, you mean the ones on YouTube? They are both fan edits of Andy Thomas Huang's "Solipsist". Bjork saw the original video and asked Huang to collaborate on "Mutual Core".

ˈʌglɪɪst preɪ, Monday, 7 May 2018 20:36 (eight years ago)

Given the visual spendor of her video oeuvre I kinda feel Big TIme Sensuality placed for nostalgia and the song itself. Always felt the video was "meh" at best and didn't place on my ballot.

octobeard, Monday, 7 May 2018 20:36 (eight years ago)

xp

ok, that makes sense

yeah it was the youtube video of Solipsist that I was reacting to

"Joga" and "Possibly Maybe" and "I Miss You" all had a single first-place vote each.

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Monday, 7 May 2018 20:58 (eight years ago)

There’s a great bit in the Emily Mackay book about how the AiFoL video anticipated (inspired?) the white, sterile look of the iPod and other Apple products of a few years later.

incel elgort (cryptosicko), Monday, 7 May 2018 21:00 (eight years ago)

All is full of love is not only the best bjork video it should be in every top 10 music videos from the 90’s from here to eternity. Hyperballad would be my second choice. There are days when I think Bjork videos are even better than her songs.

✖✖✖ (Moka), Monday, 7 May 2018 21:02 (eight years ago)

i voted for the Joga video, the one with all the digitally altered shots and zooms and pans of icelandic landscapes. parts of it just look silly bad today, but i still get really disoriented (in a good way) with some of the weird pans that shift in time with the music, like the shot of the river around 1:42 in. the 480p quality of the youtube version is not pleasant to look at, though.

i was also the Isobel #1. i used to watch a bjork video collection at my friend's house on a weekly basis, and Isobel was the one that always sucked me in. love the way the two holographic versions of her approach and retreat into each other, a trick that's used in the Hyperballad video a bit too.

obviously DLC (Karl Malone), Monday, 7 May 2018 21:25 (eight years ago)

y’all how did “I Miss You” not even place???

flamenco drop (BradNelson), Monday, 7 May 2018 23:20 (eight years ago)
